Plenty of racing action took place throughout the Mid-Atlantic this past week.

Here’s a look at the “three stars” of each track:

FIRST STAR: TWISTED RIDE. Parx’s Monday feature was a astakes-quality open allowance sprint at 6 1/2 furlongs. It was a wide-open race, with five of the seven runners going off between 5-2 and 6-1. Pennsylvania veteran Twisted Ride earned another victory, lasting on the lead to win by a half-length. He made the rail and the lead from post position three, and dealt with consistent pressure from his outside. There were three horses lined up to his outside at one point. As they rounded the turn, Dropline took control and was a half-length in front at the top of the stretch. However, Twisted Rise dug in and fended him off to win. He covered the distance on the fast track in 1:18.60. He’s now 11-for-38 lifetime with earnings of $786,488 for trainer Michael Moore and breeder Kasey K Racing Stable, who co-owns with Michael Day and Final Turn Racing Stable LLC.

SECOND STAR: ARNALDO BOCACHICA. Charles Town’s perennial leading rider had a big day on Wednesday, riding five winners on the nine-race card. He rode a pair of winners for the track’s top trainer, Anthony Farrior, taking race 3 aboard Box Office and race 9 on Professor Grace. Along the way, he captured race 2 on Magic Moon Spell for trainer Gary Williams, the 4th race on Ollie Figgins trainee Dip Fantasia, and race 6 with Johanna, trained by Jeff Runco. Bocachica was the leading rider at the West Virginia oval for the eighth year in row this year, riding a whopping 196 winners from 598 mounts.

THIRD STAR: FALCON BLUE. This Maryland-bred gelding capped an impressive Charles Town meet on Thursday with a second-level sprint win, his fourth victory in a row on this track. He drafted well off the early pace in fourth, while early leaders Hammer, Pure Panic, and Frosty the Giant scampered clear of the others. Ad they rounded the final turn, Falcon Blue made a strong five-wide move and kicked past the others to win by 1 1/2 lengths in 1:19.61 for 6 1/2 furlongs. He’s undefeated at Charles Town, going 4-for-4 there with an 0-for-9 record everywhere else. He’s owned by Gus Pesaturo and trainer Kevin Joy and ridden by Jose Montano.

LAUREL PARK

FIRST STAR: ON THE MARK. Set the pace on the rail and won a second-level sprint on Saturday in his first start in five months.

SECOND STAR: IN THE DANCE. Rallied from last to win a Maryland-restricted first-level route later on the Saturday card.

THIRD STAR: YEDSIT HAZLEWOOD. Rode three winners on Sunday to get past the 60-win barrier on the season; he’s the first rider to win 60 races at the fall meet since 2017.

CHARLES TOWN

FIRST STAR: ARNALDO BOCACHICA. Capped off another big year at Charles Town with a big week.

SECOND STAR: FALCON BLUE. No one’s more excited for opening night at Charles Town than him.

THIRD STAR: OVERNIGHT POW WOW. Rebounded from a fourth-place effort in the Cavada Breeders’ Classic to win a second-level sprint in gate-to-wire style on Thursday.

PARX RACING

FIRST STAR: TWISTED RIDE. Pennsylvania-bred sprinting star did it again on Monday.

SECOND STAR: SHETALKSTOMUCH. Rallied from last to win a first-level sprint earlier on the Monday program; in her 64-race career, she’s won eight times and has hit the board on 39 occasions.

THIRD STAR: NIXON JOY. Made a last-to-first bid of his own to pull an 18-1 upset in a starter optional claiming route on Tuesday.
