Equibase to provide free digital pocket PPs

Equibase Company, the Thoroughbred industry’s official database for racing information, today announced the launch of a pilot program, Pocket PPs, to provide complimentary digital past performances in a simplified, 4” x 9” format. The Pocket PPs, which are being sponsored by FanDuel, are available for all tracks and can be found via a link within the entries section of equibase.com.

In addition to basic entry information, the Pocket PPs display the horse’s past four races with each line including the date, race, race type, points of call, and finish position, along with abbreviated race description comments.
“A primary focus for Equibase is to look at ways we can use data to help introduce new horseplayers to the sport while not overwhelming them with complicated past performance information,” said Equibase President Kyle McDoniel. “Our hope is that these simplified PPs will be a good beginning point to handicapping and a stepping stone to other more robust information.”
Users can find the Pocket PPs within the entries section of equibase.com next to two other free tools: Entries Plus, which provides basic racing performance information in an interactive, easy-to-digest format, and Smart Pick, which creates suggested wagering tickets based on a set of user preferences.
