Charles Town picks and analysis: October 25, 2025
Picks and analysis for this afternoon’s card from Charles Town Races:
- RACES ON CARD: 8
- CARRYOVERS:Â Jackpot Pick 6, $54,349
- POST TIME: 7:00 p.m.
RACE 1
| 4. Jester’s Song | Makes first start in Farrior barn (31% first off the claim at CT) after a decent try versus similar; ought to be a couple lengths back early and looking to pounce |
| 2. Inter Miami | Lots of early zip for this guy, but that first off the bench wasn’t very good, as he was free on a slow pace for the distance and couldn’t seal the deal; will need to step forward but likely to be bet to favoritism |
| 1. Coronation Time | Decent tries versus similar and cuts back to preferred distance here |
RACE 2
| 5. Belle Cause | Useful return to action from over a year away and can step forward from there; added ground likely a positive |
| 3. Preshow Hype | Good-looking win in latest but DQed after crowding an inner rival early; repeat makes her tough |
| 4. Fancy Conchita | Half-sis to $380k earner Fancy Concho closed nicely in latest and should benefit from added ground |
RACE 3
| 2. Gericault | Rallied to lead late versus similar in latest but couldn’t hang on; 0-for-6 record gives pause, but on the other hand, he’s been second or third five times |
| 6. Singularity | Sneaky-good try in latest as he was hustled to the front from the outside stall and never caught a breather the entire trip but was game to the finish |
| 3. Electioneering | Likely to be heavily bet in first local try for a barn that’s done very well this meet, but recent early sluggishness advises caution |

RACE 4
| 4. Big Mo Gee | Solid try last out despite sluggish start, rallying smartly between horses for the place; will be tough if he can get out of the gate in good order |
| 7. The Commish | Won like a 2-5 shot should in local bow |
| 3. McHale | No idea what to make of this guy in first in Brown barn, but new trainer does have a 21% strike rate with horses first time in the barn going 4 1/2 furlongs |
RACE 5
| 1. Entitled Defense | Trainer Schoenthal (2.65 ROI with first-time starters) ships in a Maryland-bred Golden Lad filly who’s a half to three debut winners |
| 5. Netta Rox | A couple of zippy works for this Jimmy Creed filly making her debut for trainer Javier Contreras |
| 6. Won Ton | Tonalist is a bit below average with 2yo firsters, and despite a 20% strike rate, trainer Runco’s ROI with 2yo debut runners is 0.73; good works and might well win, but the odds may be tough to stomach |
RACE 6
| 1. Coastal Cruise | Half-brother to stakes winners Coastal Mission and Lewisfield looking like he might become one of those, too, after a pair of dominant wins; added ground shouldn’t be a problem |
| 7. Ray of Sunshine | Speedy type was overmatched in the WVBC Russell Road but may be able to control this one for quite a ways |
| 3. Midnight Mesa | Makes third start off the bench and has been moving in the right direction |
RACE 7
| 6. Moonlit Notion | Inclined to forgive latest when antsy before the race and empty late; 4-for-5 at the trip |
| 5. Kissling | One of a bunch of these with early foot but has won at the trip from just off it |
| 4. Irish Hero | Might be speed of the speed but arrives after a couple of off-color outings; class relief a positive |
RACE 8
| 6. Likeagentleman | Overmatched versus starter foes but prior form against these sorts was plenty good enough |
| 4. Larz | Game try in latest and might be speed of the speed |
| 1. Souper Watson | Has faced better but has done best work on turf and synthetic |

25th Oct 2025I wish they published FTS wearing blinkers. Jeff Runco 2yr. old FTS, FTB’S is 12-0-1-4 in the last 5 yrs with FTS filly’s making their debuts with blinkers on at 4.5 furlongs. Every handicapper in the world will include his filly in 5th race in their horizontal bets. Be nice to throw his horse out. FWIW, Dip Fantasia was working with graded stakes winner Barstool in June.
