Laurel Park was in action for three days of live racing this past weekend, and we’re crunching the numbers on jockey and trainer stats: wins, percentage of purse earned, added wins.

Stats are year-to-date in Maryland, including both Laurel and Pimlico, and not meet-specific. Here are the numbers:

JOCKEY TOP 10 WINS

JG Torrealba and Sheldon Russell each went 3-for-11 last week to top the colony in wins… Six riders — Ismerio Villalobos, Mychel Sanchez, Jorge Ruiz, Jaime Rodriguez, Horacio Karamanos, and Angel Cruz — won two apiece… The two wins enabled Cruz to climb into the top 10… 17 riders won at least once…

JOCKEY TOP 10 PERCENTAGE OF PURSE EARNED

The top 10 by percentage of purse earned among riders who have made at least 15 starts in Maryland this year… The only changes to the top 10 result from three riders with fewer than 15 starts who were on the list last week before we updated the minimum number of starts… That change opened the door to Yedsit Hazlewood, Jevian Toledo, and Tyler Conner to join the top 10… Eight of the top 10 in this category are also in the top 10 by wins…

JOCKEY TOP 10 BY ADDED WINS

Raul Mena, who did not ride in Maryland last week, retains a solid lead over Sheldon Russell, who is a clear second in added wins, comparing a rider’s actual wins to what the odds of his or her runners would have predicted… The range of all riders is 6.89 to (-10.54)…

TRAINERS TOP 10 BY WINS

Brittany Russell went 3-for-7 last week and Mike Trombetta was 3-for-11 to tie for the wins lead at Laurel in the past week… Joanne Shankle, Jamie Ness, Hugh McMahon, and Jonathan Maldonado all won twice… 19 trainers won at least one race…

TRAINERS TOP 10 BY PERCENTAGE OF PURSE EARNED

The top 10 in percentage of purse earned (among those with at least 12 starts in Maryland this year) remained similar to last week, with the same trainers in slightly different order… Four of the top 10 by wins are also among the top 10 here…

TRAINER TOP 10 BY ADDED WINS

Brittany Russell has double her nearest competitor in added wins, comparing a trainer’s actual wins to what the odds of his or her runners would have predicted… The same trainers have comprised the top 10 the last two weeks… The range of all trainers is 11.95 to (-3.94)…
