The $50,000 Sussex Stakes for Delaware certified runners has been taken off the turf and will be run at a mile on the main track. Main-track-only entrant #5 Tappin Cat (3-5) seems to have found a pretty congenial spot to snap a four-race losing streak. HIs last win also came over the strip in last fall’s Governors Day Stakes. #8 Indian Lake (3-1) runs good races on both turf and dirt and certainly fits here. #9 Wild Banker (12-1) is an inconsistent sort but he’s had his moments.
