ANALYSIS
We’ll take a bit of a swing in this maiden contest, which is the second of two divisions, the first race being the other. #1 Timmy (12-1) gave an improved account of himself in last when stretched out to two turns for the first time. The added ground let him be closer to the pace, and while he couldn’t go with the winner, that one came right back to beat allowance foes. Lasix on for the first time… If #4 Taxit (6-5) can get back to his January and March races, he’ll win here. But what’s fun about 6-5? If #8 Red Hot Toddy (2-1) runs second again, that’ll make it six straight runner-up finishes, which has to be some kind of record… His debut wasn’t bad, but that second start for #7 Logstradamus (10-1) was a mess at odds-on. Let’s see if he can bounce back…
Race 7
4-3-1-7
Interesting group here, and some of the major players all seem to want the front. That might be good news for #4 Grumpelstiltskin (9-2). He’ll do his best running later in this dash, and if the other major players heat it up, he might pick ’em all up…. #3 Be Be Bop (5-2) and #1 Majestic Seas (7-2) ran one-two, respectively, last out . With post positions somewhat flipped here, Majestic Seas won’t have much choice but to go, with Be Be Bop presumably at his throat from the jump… #7 Not a Trick (4-1) adds additional pace pressure and has won two straight up at Finger Lakes. Trainer Dunham and rider Bocachica don’t team up much but are 4-for-8 when they do…
