RACE NUMBER | CONTENDERS | COMMENTS |
Race 8 | 5-2-6-4 | After a couple of tries up close to the pace early, top choice #5 Irish Honor (7-2) rallied smartly from seventh for the place last time out against similar. He’s got enough early lick to be closer this time, and it’s a positive to see pilot Kendrick Carmouche take the return mount. No reason this one can’t win for the second time in four outings… #2 Secret Path (3-1) was pretty well beaten when third last time in a purse-enhanced starter event, but no shame there: winner Exit Right repeated and is riding a four-race win streak. This one is in good form and fits well here… #6 Maybe After Later (5-2) disappointed at 7-5 last time out in his first in nearly two months but should be forwardly placed early and can be around at the end… #4 Derby House (9-2) has won two straight while ascending the class ladder and shifts into the Pearce barn (18% first off the claim)… |
Race 10 | 4-2-7-8 | You’ll want to make sure you get a square price on our top choice here, #4 Tomarie (6-1) enters off a decent third at long odds in a starter, and before that she finished third at 6-5 in an allowance at Penn National. But prior to that she ran a good one when winning a state-bred allowance locally and beating Aegean Sea, another contender here… #2 Aegean Sea (5-1) had a better-than-it-looks effort last time when persevering to be fourth but beaten just two lengths. She doesn’t win much, which is a knock against her, but she fits with these… #7 Lula’s Roadrunner (7-2) thumped state-bred allowance foes last out but did finish behind our top choice two back. A lively pace would aid the cause… The speedy #8 Lean On E (9-2) has done her best work on the engine and might look to control this one throughout… |
