How’d we do last time at Parx?

RACE NUMBERCONTENDERSCOMMENTS
Race 97-2-5-3Favored #7 Hit the Woah (5-2) could be a pretty tough out in this spot. The Christophe Clement trainee is dropping out of stakes company — she’s stakes-placed and last out, though seventh, was beaten less than two lengths in a Grade 3 contest — and returning to the dirt, on which she’s posted her only win. She’ll get Lasix for the first time and is showing four works since her last race, in mid-May. This one shapes up to have some pace, which should aid her running style… Maybe the light bulb’s now on for #2 Kirtan (6-1). It took her nine tries, but she graduated last out with ease, winning by over seven lengths; the runner-up won next out… #5 Gambit’s Girl (4-1) figures to be part of the pace in this contest and has run good races against similar — but she has a troubling habit of gacking up leads late… Tough outing last time on a good track for #3 Assume Control (6-1), but two back she won like a good thing against starter allowance foes…
Race 104-6-3-2All #4 Prince of Rain (5-1) has done in his brief career is run good races: two wins and three seconds from five starts, including a good local try when second to next-out winner Geebert. Let’s see if he can keep moving forward here… The drop into claiming company seems to have been a positive for #6 Halite (7-2); he posted an easy win two back and returned with a strong performance when second in a Pimlico allowance behind Air Token, a stakes winner who followed that up with a second in stakes company… That was a stinker last out, but we’re inclined to give #3 Hibachi (6-1) another shot in this contest. His better efforts should compete… The speedy #2 First Citizen (9-5) figures to try to take them all the way for the leading trainer Ness and jockey Silvera…
