#13 Win Win Win (15-1)

Why he COULD win the Preakness: The Maryland-based runner gets blinkers on today, which might move him a bit closer to the early pace and put him in a good spot mid-flight from which to unleash his late kick. In the Blue Grass, he closed sharply on a track that was heavily speed-biased, and a fair strip would work to his advantage. Rider Julian Pimentel and trainer Mike Trombetta win 23 percent of the time together.

Why he SHOULD NOT be able to win the Preakness: He does not appear to be fast enough, as his three route races have netted a top Beyer of 89 — several lengths behind the best in here. His best race came at seven furlongs, which doesn’t augur well going 1 3/16 miles, tinkering with equipment before a race of this magnitude makes you wonder how strongly his connections feel, and Pimentel will need to work out a trip from the far outside.
