#12 Anothertwistafate (6-1)

Why he COULD win the Preakness: All this guy has done in since winning th El Camino Real Derby is run good races, just missing in the Sunland Derby against Cutting Humor and finishing a good second to the well-fancied Owendale in the Lexington after a troubled trip. If you like Owendale, you need to give this horse a look, too. Jockey Jose Ortiz is no slouch.

Why he SHOULD NOT be able to win the Preakness: Despite having run good races, he’s 0-for-3 on dirt, which isn’t a great endorsement in the Preakness. He’s also one of a bevy of runners who figures to be trying to find a forward position, and his problem is exacerbated by being drawn out wide. Ortiz must make a difficult tactical decision quickly in this race, and it feels like this horse won’t be good enough to overcome an early-race error.
