Post time for today’s nine-race Delaware Park card — one of the nine is for Arabians — is 1:15 p.m.

Some horses we’re curious to see:

  • In race four (post time 2:45), a 1 mile 70 yard maiden claimer on the turf, Ocean Sunrise (15-1) returns to the lawn for trainer Kelly Rubley. Her debut, against better at Gulfstream, was credible with a bad trip, and that race produced a couple of next-out winners, including the winner herself, Aquemini, who has never been out of the money in nine starts. This runner gets blinkers on, which may put her in the mix early, and though she hasn’t raced since May 11, she shows five works in the interim.
  • In the sixth (3:45), a 1 mile 70 yard lifetime claimer on the turf, Cowgirl (20-1) is clearly not much of a runner on the main track, having had to drop down to the $5,000 claiming level to break her maiden. But three of her sibs have won on the turf, which she tries here for the first time. She’d need to step forward in a significant way to win here, but this is a modest field. Anonymous (7-2)  is favored — but has just one win from 20 starts.
  • The eighth (4:45) is another lifetime claimer on the lawn. Trainer Jane Cibelli sends out Stormy Princess (15-1) for just her second turf try. Her first was inconclusive — a jump-up from a win against $12,500 maidens to $50,000 claimers — in a race won by the speedy turf sprinter Unaquoi. This runner’s bred for the lawn — she’s by Stormy Atlantic — and if she can handle her first try around two turns, she could run well in this spot. Dixie Spirit (5-2) is favored.
