Laurel Park’s popular Winter Carnival will highlight an exciting holiday weekend of racing Feb. 13-15 featuring the $300,000 Barbara Fritchie (G2), $250,000 General George (G3), and a weekend of ice carvings, giveaways and on-track entertainment.

The Winter Carnival kicks off Saturday, Feb. 13 with the 62nd running of the Fritchie for fillies and mares at seven furlongs. Along with the Fritchie, there will be ice carvings throughout the track, an ice bar, on-site carving demonstrations and an ice wall with more than $2,500 in prizes frozen inside. There will also be a buffet in the Terrace Dining Room Saturday and Monday from 12-4 p.m., for $32 per person (an additional $12 with unlimited Mimosas and Bloody Marys).

After a Sunday program featuring the track’s popular Sunday brunch, the 40th running of the General George will be contested Monday, Feb. 15 at seven furlongs. The Monday afternoon program will also feature drawings for a 48-inch flat screen television and a $250 Laurel betting voucher.
