Belmont winner Mo Donegal sidelined with injury
Donegal Racing, co-owners of Mo Donegal, issued the following press release July 2:
Mo Donegal, who emerged as America’s leading 3-year-old with a dominant victory in the Belmont Stakes (G1), came out of New York’s 1 1/2-mile Triple Crown finale with bone bruising and will be out of training for 60 days.

Jerry Crawford, CEO of Donegal Racing, and Mike Repole said Saturday that they will share Mo Donegal’s progress as the colt continues to be evaluated.
Trained by Todd Pletcher, Mo Donegal is the top-ranked 3-year-old in the National Thoroughbred Racing Association’s weekly poll. The son of Uncle Mo, Mo Donegal has won four of seven starts while earning $1.5 million, including victories in the Remsen at 2 and this year’s Wood Memorial and the Belmont Stakes.
