the longest shot on the morning line is Fenwick, whose only win to date came in maiden company two starts back.

Trainer Kevin McKathan acknowledges his horse, a colt by Preakness winner Curlin, should be a longshot. But he also says, “If everything goes right, we’re going to meet a different animal.”

Morning Line Odds: 50-1

Not sure which is more amazing, the fact he finished 38-lengths behind Zandon, the winner of the Blue Grass in his most recent outing OR that he went off at odds of ONLY 21-1 in that race coming off his maiden score.

His resume’ shows six career starts with just one win which came at Tampa in his fifth career start. By comparison, his past performances make Rich Strike’s resemble Secretariat’s. Speed figures indicate he is the slowest of this group.

It’s not all bad though. His sire (Curlin) won this race in 2007 so getting the distance won’t be the issue. If he pulls off a second consecutive Triple Crown race shocker, he’ll become more famous in these parts than his namesake island in Delaware, a small town many locals drive through when going downy ocean hon. Hard to recommend even for the lesser awards.
