Fasig-Tipton to sponsor Laurel Futurity

Laurel Park announced today that Fasig-Tipton will be the title sponsor for the $200,000 Laurel Futurity.
The Fasig-Tipton Laurel Futurity will be contested Saturday, Sept. 21 as part of a spectacular day of racing with eight stakes races, including the $250,000 Frank De Francis Memorial Dash (G3), $250,000 Baltimore-Washington International Turf Cup (G3) and $150,000 Bald Eagle.
The Futurity, commemorating its 93rd running, has a rich history, dating back to 1921 when champion Morvich won the Futurity, then contested at Pimlico Race Course. Along with Morvich, who would go on to win the 1922 Kentucky Derby, the Futurity has also been won by Secretariat, Barbaro, Spectacular Bid, Citation, Challedon, Affirmed, Tapit, In Reality, Honest Pleasure and Quadrangle
“Fasig-Tipton is pleased to sponsor the Laurel Futurity, which has a rich history as Maryland’s premier juvenile race,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning. “Our company has a long association with Maryland racing, and with the Futurity being held the weekend before our Midlantic Fall Yearlings Sale in Timonium, the timing could not work any better.”
The Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Fall Yearling Sale will be held on Monday and Tuesday, September 30-October 1 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonum.
