Delaware Park picks and analysis: August 22, 2026

  • CARRYOVERS: None
  • POST TIME: 12:20 P.M.
  • NUMBER OF RACES: 8

RACE 1: 8-9-3-7

#8 It a Lee has run some decent races and has the tactical speed to get a good trip in a race with very little front-end speed… #9 Sharp Wonder wasn’t terrible in her first against winners when third behind 4-5 favorite Tug… #3 Tell ‘Em I’m Comin generally has no early speed at all before rallying mildly, sometimes for a piece; hard to endorse on top given sub-optimal running style and 1-for-39 record…

RACE 2: 3-1-5-6

#3 Shes the Tall One didn’t show much last out but makes her third start off the bench while taking a precipitous drop in class (trainer Lynch is 6-for-11 with similar drops)… #1 Santa Luzia didn’t miss by much last out when going a route of ground against similar for the first time; winner Essential Girl ran second in first try against winners… #5 I’mamaterialgirl tries two turns for the first time; breeding suggests no problem…

RACE 3: 5-4-6-2

#5 Sweet and Feisty really ran a good race last out when dueling inside a rival for virtually the entire trip; might be main speed here and is drawn outside others… #4 Tea Rose gave an improved account of herself in latest while facing better… #6 Noble Annie ran huge last out when just missing at 34-1, but we’d like to see it again before committing…

RACE 4

If on turf: 2-8-7-1; 11 a major player if drawing in

If on dirt: 4-9-6-8

RACE 5: 7-6-3-1

#7 Greyzer really tried hard in latest when fighting for position down on the rail; tactical enough to find a trip here and owns four wins at the trip… #6 Secret Treasure just missed against similar when dropped in two back, and last out he was compromise by a slow pace that did him no favors… #3 Concealed Carry was foiled by a horse sitting the trip in latest and makes third start since the Ness claim, this time with Rodriguez up….

RACE 6

If on turf: 7-10-2-1

If on dirt: 3-1-6-5

RACE 7: 2-5-4-3

Ultra-speedy #2 Tallmar is making short work of his conditions and sports a spotless 3-for-3 ledger in sprints; he’s the one they’ll need to catch, and note Cedeno, who rode #4 last out, lands here… #5 Circle P was a stakes winner sprinting back in the winter of ’25; useful return when running evenly on synthetic, so look for an improved outing here… #4 Sir Wellington is another with early lick but likely to be on the chase here…

RACE 8: 1-7-6-3

#1 Unbridled Justice drops out of the special weight ranks; debut on dirt wasn’t bad in a race that produced a next-out special weight winner at Colonial, and this one figures to be speed of the speed..#7 Savvylicious ran evenly against better in only prior dirt try… #6 Farooq is a nicely bred sort who hasn’t quite managed to put it all together…
