Delaware Park picks and analysis: June 4, 2026
- CARRYOVERS: None
- POST TIME: 12:20 P.M.
- NUMBER OF RACES: 8
RACE 1: 5-2-7-6
#5 Guard of Honour has lost a lot of races — 32, to be exact — in a lot of different ways, but notably, only four of those have come on the main track; last time out, he closed from the clouds to just miss at this level, but we’re thinking he can be a bit closer to the early action this time and still have some run… #2 Guys Trip shifts back to dirt after five straight on synthetic and should be one-two in the early running… #7 Tall Cotton tired in late stages last out a step up at Monmouth but is lightly raced enough to have some upside…
RACE 2: 4-2-6-3
#4 Molly the Great rallied from well back in her debut and then showed speed before tiring last out; trainer Richards wins at a 23% clip with a positive ROI first off the claim… #2 Miss Mo Town gets blinkers on and Lopez up after an improved try last out… #6 Smokeshow makes her career bow for trainer Danny Eubanks and is a half to a minor stakes winner; note zippy bullet move April 25…
RACE 3: 5-4-9-2
#5 Queen Wilhelmina lands in a good spot after battling better, and trainer Schultz has a terrific record dropping horses into the claiming ranks… #4 Saucy Six drops into the spot she’s wanted for a long time, and though perhaps it’s too late, she has efforts on her resume that would win here… #9 Pegster takes a logical drop in her second start of the year; the last time she raced at this level, she was beaten less than three lengths in a race that produced three next out winners…
RACE 4: 6-4-1-2
#6 Bella Prima is a nose away from a three-race win streak and beat two of these rivals last time out when running into the pace; the Keen Ice mare’s prior win came on the front end, so the versatility is there, and drawn outside, she should be able to get the trip she wants… #4 Mabee Luckynwild gave an improved effort last out against better in her first local start; she likely will be in front early under apprentice Rosario… #1 Dark Dutchess ran evenly when third behind Bella Prima in her latest and gets rider Jorge Ruiz in the irons…
RACE 5: 2-1-3-6
#2 Atlast made his North American debut last June in the Monmouth Stakes where he was a credible third behind Redistricting, who then won the United Nations (G2) and ran second in a Grade 1; two subsequent tries were not good, and he’s been away since August and gelded since; trainer Motion is 4-for-16 returning from long layoffs on the Delaware turf, and with some speed signed on, he might get the trip he wants… Ultra-speedy #1 Pineland got cooked as part of the speed in latest in a race that’s so far produced two next-out winners but may be speed of the speed here and could take ’em a long way… #3 Uncle’s Gold won a Florida-bred stake last out at Tampa and could get first run if the speed tires…
RACE 6: 6-2-1-5
#6 Miguel’s Belle was drawn inside in latest, gunned for the lead, and tired in the final quarter-mile; now drawn outside and with a couple of very fast horses inside of her, she should be able to get the stalk-and-pounce trip she wants… #2 Awesome Pic might be the speediest of the speed horses but doesn’t have to have the lead; best is good enough… #1 Miss Interpatation caught a soft group at this level in latest and was able to control throughout, but she’s unlikely to find these rivals so accommodating…
RACE 7: 10-5-8-11
Several of these come out of the same Tampa heat won by 41-1 Acquisitive, which has produced two next-out winners but neither on the lawn… #10 Mach Two Blue is one who does not; he broke his maiden three back sprinting, and while his two tries against winners weren’t great, both were against better; first try of ’26 for this Raven trainee… #5 Ski Bum is one of those out of the Acquisitive race; he couldn’t quite go with the top pair in that event, he did hold third and may be the speed here… #8 Double Miles broke his maiden two back at Tampa, and the show horse came back to graduate next out; didn’t run a bad race next out on the dirt…
RACE 8: 4-6-3-7
#4 Rolly has put together three straight good outings, winning one and finishing second last out at this level; in a race with no speed whatsoever, he might be able to use his to best advantage… #6 This Run’s For You figures to be running at the end… #3 Granted Success has been away since November and switches into a new barn; his speed figs say he’s best, but it’s worth noting his most recent win came by a nose at this level, and the likely short odds are not appealing…
