As the 2026 season rolls on, we’re tracking the jockey and trainer statistics from the year and weekly, and we dig in a little deeper.
The numbers:
LAUREL PARK JOCKEYS
Yedsit Hazlewood was one of five riders to win three times last week and maintains the overall edge with 12 wins at the meet to date… His nearest pursuer, Angel Cruz, also won three last week, as did Carlos Lopez, Mychel Sanchez (who went 3-for-5), and Martin Chuan… Cruz has eight wins at the meet, and four others have five each… Andres Chavez, with four wins at the meet, has 2.74 added wins to lead all local riders, giving him the edge over Cruz (2.25)… The range of all riders is 2.74 to (-2.99)… Added wins compares a rider’s actual wins to the number of wins the odds would have predicted, with a positive total meaning the rider had won more races than the odds of his or her mounts suggest…
