LRL: In My Memories dances to allowance win
In My Memories likes her music, trainer Anthony Farrior said Saturday. She listens to the tunes played by her groom, Felipe, and bops around her stall.
She was certainly getting jiggy with it in the Laurel Park Saturday feature, skittering across the sticky, muddy surface to post an easy, two-length win in a $55,885 second-level allowance.

“Horses for courses, I guess,” Farrior shrugged afterwards. “It worked out for us today.”
The win was In My Memories’ sixth from 22 career starts and pushed her bankroll to nearly $213,000.
“Seems like she liked the mud,” the trainer added. “She skipped over it pretty good.”

A $40,000 claim by owner Jim Wolf in December 2024, In My Memories, a 4-year-old Jimmy Creed filly, won three times in 2025 for her new connections. All three came in first-level allowances or allowance/optional claimers.
Last time out in a second allowance at Charles Town, she tried hard but could not get to Overnight Pow Wow, who made all the running, and three starts prior to that, she had a similar result when chasing Green Eyed Monster to no avail. Green Eyed Monster went off the favorite in today’s tilt.
“I gave some bad jockey instructions [prior to the race against Green Eyed Monster],” Farrior said. “I told [jockey Jeiron Barbosa] to let [Green Eyed Monster] go because I knew Green Eyed Monster was gonna be aggressive, and I didn’t know if she would get seven-eighths. We kind of let Green Eyed Monster go, and we just didn’t catch her.”
Today’s gameplan was different: “I told [rider JG Torrealba] to kind of get in front of her, and we’ll play it from there.”
That worked out perfectly.
Torrealba put In My Memories in action early, pressing the pace of Talk to the Judge through an opening quarter-mile in 22.77 seconds. In My Memories put a head in front after a half-mile in 47.07 seconds and came home nicely for the win in 1:12.92 for six furlongs on a sloppy, sealed main track.
Itsamonstamash, Green Eyed Monster’s stablemate, rallied into second, while Talk to the Judge held third. Green Eyed Monster, who loomed at the head of the lane, faded to sixth.
In My Memories paid $26.40 to win as the second-longest price of the seven horses in the field. The exacta returned $52.00 for a one-dollar wager.
Farrior’s barn won 263 races in 2025, the tenth most in the nation. Entering today, he had just four wins versus 11 runner-up finishes in 2026. But this afternoon at Laurel he won twice – Take Charge Candy won the nightcap – and has a couple of live shots this evening at Charles Town. So perhaps things are beginning turn.
“It’s been a little slow, a lot of seconds,” Farrior said. “But we won this one today, and hopefully a couple more, so we’ve got a good barn.”
