PRX: Point Dume scores in Ballezzi Appreciation Mile
Point Dume continued a banner season with the biggest win of his career Tuesday afternoon at Parx Racing, capturing the $75,000 M.P. Ballezzi Appreciation Mile Stakes for Bush Racing Stable and trainer Timothy Kreiser.
Ridden by Angel Cruz, the 4-year-old gelding by Into Mischief out of Maya Malibu (by Malibu Moon) broke sharply and pressed the early pace and took the lead before the half-mile mark. From there, he edged clear and held firm to the wire, winning by a length and a half in 1:37.98 over a fast main track.
It marked the first stakes win for Point Dume, who has been a model of consistency throughout 2025. The victory was his fifth of the season and eighth overall from 26 starts, boosting his career earnings to $351,290.
Irish Cork rallied from last along the inside to finish second, while Adero chased three wide and flattened out for third. Early pacesetter Bernie’s Mitts, the lukewarm 2-1 favorite, tired to fourth.
