Delaware Park picks and analysis: October 1, 2025
- CARRYOVERS: None
- POST TIME: 12:45 P.M.
- NUMBER OF RACES: 9
RACE 1
1. Home Invasion | Picks up leading rider after a pair of solid outings; look for JRod to put this one in action early in a race light on speed |
9. Super Tiz | Stretches out to a route of ground for the first time on the main track; breeding says he’ll like that |
11. Gap to Gap | Overwhelmed by 1-9 favorite in latest but still clearly second best; major player if drawing in |
4. Magic Path | Somewhat bland recent tries but has races that win here if he can get back to winter form |
RACE 2
4. Phlying Phyllis | Useful return to action when second versus similar after more than a year away; trainer Capuano has a positive ROI second off the bench and this one should be able to sit off the pace and make a move |
5. Harmony Road | Galloped in latest versus Virginia-restricted fillies; shows three works since, including a bullet half-mile Sept. 13 |
6. Our Best Song | Speedy type drawn outside others with early foot and might control this one |
RACE 3
8. Unicycle | Game outing to graduate two back in a race that’s produced two next-out winners; draw a line through latest on dirt |
10. Sea Shanty | Just missed (again) in latest after troubled stretch run; has been beaten less than a length three times in her last five starts |
6. Centeya | Finished up pretty well in latest despite getting banged around early |
RACE 4
2. Meatballsforaries | Runner-up twice versus similar in two main track tries; draw a line through turf outing |
8. C’est Chouette | Did more or less everything wrong in debut and still ran on a bit in the lane, so there’s some talent there; shows three works since first outing, and if this Gun Runner filly likes the dirt, she’ll be tough in here, though probably won’t offer much value |
4. On the Beam | First-time starter is a half to a debut winner, and trainer Matz has a postive ROI with 2yo first-timers |
RACE 5
2. Roundtop | Last wasn’t great but that race has produced two next-out winners from four to run back and prior form fits; might get a good trip |
7. Curahee | Speed of the speed but has a tendency to gack up leads; might take enough pressure from Country Charlie to set it up for others |
8. Specialagentjonson | Will be running late and might get a pace that lets him show late kick to best effect |
RACE 6
7. C. C. Foxii | Didn’t embarrass herself versus much better in latest, now lands in appropriate spot; JRod remains aboard; trainer Compton is 26% on the drop |
3. Hold On | Even outing in first versus winners |
2. Tempting Lady | Speed figs and company lines say she should win, but she arrives off a break, trainer switch, and claim voided by the vet; that leaves us with too many questions to take likely short odds |
RACE 7
8. Eachpeachpearplum | Nothing wrong with her work on turf to date, and for the first time, she’ll get to go a route of ground on regular rest rather than coming off a layoff; should be tighter today and trainer Pecoraro has a positive ROI second off the bench |
11. My Gal | Blinkers off, new barn, and a massive class drop likely add up to favoritism; first off the bench perhaps advises caution |
1. Amendment | Short rest into latest may have factored in bland outing; blinkers on today |
RACE 8
4. Frack Baby | Overcame troubled start to lead in latest before tiring in latter stages; runner-up came back to win a Colonial allowance next |
1. Pedro Nunes | Third off the bench for a hard-hitting barn; latest possibly flattered when winner Silver Slugger repeated Sunday in the Wilmington |
5. Do It for Michael | Four-time winner has that as an advantage versus a group including several with a single win, but first try versus elders didn’t go very well at 3-5 |
RACE 9
9. Fifth of June | Lightly raced sort has the speed to control this or press another on a mission and the outside draw to aid the cause; nothing wrong with two-back outing when third versus better |
1. Nohai | Beat herself with erratic stretch run in latest |
5. Vivid Artiste | Short odds likely but not enticing on a 13-race maiden |
