Delaware Park picks and analysis: September 27, 2025
- CARRYOVERS: None
- POST TIME: 12:55 P.M.
- NUMBER OF RACES: 10
RACE 1
5. Manoah’s Glory | Bred to want the added ground, finally gets it |
3. Donut Dust | Half-bro to dirt stakes winner Run Away Rojo tries the main track for the first time; improved outing in latest |
4. Authentic Gem | Breeding says dirt the right answer |
RACE 2
5. Granted Success | Likely to sit a good trip off what should be a lively pace; needs best but has mostly been in good form of late |
4. Diamond Heist | Speed figs say this is the winner, but has two recent defeats when in for a nickel and a record that shows more seconds and thirds than wins, so caution advised |
7. Disturbed | Will be running late and best would do it… but will he be too late? |
RACE 3
13. Supreme Being | Maybe a change of scenery helps? This guy has been in over his head repeatedly but has some talent, and maybe new trainer Serey can bring it out |
14. Hatmaker Gizmo | Possible speed of the speed will need to wing it from the outside |
6. Myluckeyvalentine | Now horse has destroyed $7500 runners in last two |
7. Prime Motive | Three-time winner in a field full of horses with two wins; even outing versus better in latest |
RACING NOTES
- Jockey Alexander Crispin won a pair Thursday, scoring aboard Shining Spirit ($16.40) for trainer Bruce Kravets and on Maddie Ten ($11.80) for Michael Simone…
RACE 4
8. Project Maximus | Half-sis to stakes winner Monday Morning Qb made ultra-impressive debut with rider Ruiz doing his best statue routine as this miss obliterated her competition |
4. Neon Sunset | Sat and pounced in debut win |
2. Law School | Won by a long way on debut; turf try wasn’t much but return to preferred surface a plus |
RACE 5
2. Loveontheleftbank | She did a lot wrong in her North American debut — lunging at the start, rank most of the way — and for all that was beaten less than four lengths at the Spa; should improve today |
10. Magica | Hasn’t missed by much in either start and debut, when only runner behind a sluggish pace to make up much ground, better than it looks |
13. Turtle Love | Half-sib won at first asking and dam was a four-time winner on the lawn; War Dancer won the 2013 Virginia Derby on the green stuff |
6. For Arrogate | Hasn’t run a bad race but hasn’t had huge impacts on her races either; usually mounts a mild move |
RACE 6
3. Chatham Up | Pricey son of Into Mischief galloped versus short field at first asking, so not overly sure about what that race means, but note zippy work Sept. 20 the same time and distance as millionaire Post Time |
1. Private Desire | Constitution colt stretches out to distance his breeding says he wants |
7. Energize | Thrashed a next-out graduate in maiden score in June |
11. Houlton | Has run pretty well since switching into Dutrow barn |
RACE 7 – Christiana Stakes
7. Sigh No More | Irish Group 3 winner has been a bit inconsistent, gets blinks on today to improve focus; left with too much to do on soft ground in latest, and start before that came versus 5-for-5 Laurelin; owns a stakes win, and upside still looks pretty high |
2. Don’t Jinx It | Kinda love what’s going on with this miss: has a win over the DEL turf, and after a middling try at CNL, they took her up to the Spa, where she won at 39-1, and note how fast she came home after setting tepid fractions: just over 34 seconds for the final three-eighths is racehorse time; tries stakes company for first time and may offer value |
10. Pretty Lavish | Likely wasn’t going to win from sixth over soft Colonial course last out but ran on willingly and has a pair of stakes placings |
RACE 8 – Endine Stakes
2. Sunday Girl | Cross-entered Saturday at AQU but could be tough if posting here; plenty of early speed but has the ability to stalk and pounce, too; shifts back to main track, where she’s 6-for-6 on fast |
1. Discreet Ops | Might be the one offering value at the windows; TIM win better than it looks, as she was wide throughout and on the pace but drew away from rivals smartly; tighter today in second off the bench if she can overcome inner draw |
3. Striker Has Dial | Hunts for first stakes win here after runner-up tries, most recently in the Skipat at PIM behind G2 winner Zeitlos; best is right there |
RACE 9 – Kent Stakes
6. Maui Strong | Looking for a breakthrough win for a runner knocking on the door; has shown good speed in last couple but doesn’t need the lead and wonder if they’ll try a stalk-and-pounce approach here; Cheminaud here for this guy, who should appreciate added ground |
8. Geometry | Hasn’t done a thing wrong but we’re inclined to wait and see a little bit on those four- and five-horse DMR fields; water’s deeper today |
5. Church and State | Late-running sort was along in time in the Toronto Cup and could get some pace to close into |
RACE 10
10. Maddie’s Notion | Trainer Reed has sent out five firsters at the meet and two of ’em were first past the post (one DQed for bumping); one of her half-sibs won first out |
7. Sweet Wine | Throttled when in too deep in latest but ran well previously when spotted appropriately; second off the bench |
11. Lady Catalina | Finds lowest level |
4. Gortreagh Gal | Distance seems sub-optimal but better tries contend |
