Delaware Park picks and analysis: July 23, 2026
- CARRYOVERS: None
- POST TIME: 12:20 P.M.
- NUMBER OF RACES: 8
RACE 1: 4-6-1-3
#4 Luminous Secret was a bit up against it last out with an absolutely glacial pace up ahead and a wide journey but gave a solid account of herself when second; likely to get a better pace scenario in this contest… #6 Miss Interpetation went to the front in the same race, slowed it way down, and rebuffed our top choice in the lane, but will likely get some early pace pressure here… #1 Classic Ballad has some pretty good outings on the page and shouldn’t be too far off the early pace…
RACE 2: 1-4-2-7
#1 Susan’s Mule has the inside and is speed of the speed here; recent form hasn’t been good, but it’s come against much better, and trainer Mancilla wins at a 19% clip with a positive ROI on big drops… #4 Compass Fire ran second against similar in latest and probably gets first run if #1 falters… #2 Blue Fashion makes her first start after the Simone claim and certainly has plenty of good tries in the bank, but on the cutback from two turns, you worry she might be a little outfooted…
RACE 3
If on turf: 2-1-3-8
If on dirt: 5-4-1-6
RACE 4: 3-4-2-1
#3 Sharp Wonder ran a fabulous race last out when checked back to the rear of the field on the far turn and then re-rallying to grab second and galloping out ahead of the winner… #4 Bad Boy Butch has the best speed figs and has kept better company than these but arrives without a start in five months and a nondescript worktab for trainer Sacco… #2 Soo Handsome has been second or third eight times to date…
RACE 5:
If on turf: 1-8-9-5
If on dirt: 5-1-7-2
RACE 6: 7-3-1-4
#7 Woodline has never been worse than third in four tries at this six-furlong trip, won two back, and arrives off a good try against starter types last out; should be up close early… #3 Risk Factor tried a bunch of different things last out in first in Sacco barn: better company, blinkers off, two turns; now returns to one turn, more manageable rivals, and blinkers off and could get a good trip… #1 World On Fire is a a bit light on early foot, but that could work to his advantage in this spot…
RACE 7: 6-1-8-7
#1 Countthebrave won a Penn National allowance in latest and might be speed of the speed here; squeaks in under the money condition by just $800… #6 Garofoli has been beating up on lesser types at Fort Erie but is 5-for-7 on the main track with two minor stakes wins; could sit a good trip while drawn towards the outside; trainer Adamo, lethal at Fort Erie, still wins at a 28% clip elesewhere… #8 Eastbostonbenny has been in the money seven of eight at the trip…
RACE 8
If on dirt: 9-2-7-4
RACE 9: The Dashing Beauty Stakes
6-2-5-8
#6 Irish Maxima passed on a Colonial Downs stakes to await this spot; speedy type is probably an inch better going a bit farther, seven furlongs or a mile, but has never been worse than third at this trip, and as a two-time graded stakes winner, her class can help her through… #2 Outrageously arrives with three straight wins, two in allowance company, at Churchill Downs and, in a race in which several of these will vie for early supremacy, she could sit a good closing trip… #5 Onyx Ten did not run well last out when the beaten favorite but may not have liked the slop, which she’d never previously encountered; three-time stakes winner should catch a good trip off the speed… #8 My Magic Wand is yet another with plenty of early speed and should be involved early…
RACE 10: 6-9-3-5
#6 Develop Product came rolling while widest of all last out for second and should appreciate the added half-furlong here… #9 Anderman is the most lightly raced of the group and has won two straight but is first off the claim here… #3 Platform drops out of better company after a middling May outing, but that’s his only start in four months…
