#6 Johnny G didn’t run badly on debut, sticking with it after getting bumped and forced in at the gate, and now drops in half for his second start… #5 Bearing Witness makes his career bow for Ned Allard; sire Early Voting if off to a torrid start, with five first-out winners from 12 to run and Beyer figs as high as 84… #2 Rebel’s Heir is by ’21 Eclipse champion juvenile Corniche and though he didn’t run especially well in his debut, easier company and a shift to dirt both should help…

RACE 3: Off the turf

7-3-4-6: #7 Fifth and Chestnut was a $275k yearling and is by top sire Constitution; both sibs recorded their best speed figs on dirt… #3 Sun Valley and #4 Good Wishes are both firsters for Michael Matz, who can win first out; Good Wishes is by top sire Good Magic and gets one of Matz’s regular pilots up in Hernandez, while Sun Valley, by Karakontie, appears to have been outworking his stablemate…

RACE 4: 2-4-6-1

#2 Kerness didn’t beat much in latest but did it easily and should control the pace of this one, too; 4-for-8 at the trip and makes first start in the Potts barn… #4 It’s Sizzling Time is a classy old veteran who could be Kerness’ nearest pursuer should that one falter… #6 Hey Porter has been busy this year though not especially successful while facing better…

RACE 5: Off the turf

5-8-1-12: #5 Pippa’s Noncents has won two of three, including a win on an off-track, and the trainer-jock combo is 5-for-7… #8 Eachpeachpearplum ran big last out when stretched to two turns on the lawn; can she carry that back to the dirt? #1 Spooky Gal has good early foot…

RACE 6: 6-9-3-4

#6 Uptown Art should be the main speed here and has run her two best speed figs at this 5 1/2-furlong trip… #9 Izzy’s Rock Star gave a good account of herself in her first against winners when staying on for third despite a wide trip and has been in the triple in four straight… #3 All I Do was a voided claim in latest and now shifts into the Simone barn and drops to the bottom; speed figs says she’s the winner, but we’re inclined to take a bit of a wait-and-see approach given likely short odds…

RACE 7: Off the turf

5-6-8-7: #5 Mack Runs Philly ran evenly against better on debut in a race that’s produced a next out winner… #6 Putter Man is a half to two first-out winners and by First Mondays, who has a good record in limited opportunities with first-timers… #8 Rum Rock ran decently against special weight foes on dirt in his bow…

RACE 8: 1-2-3-4

#1 Intrepid’s Legacy did not run well last out after a useful return to action May 1, but the Capuano barn has a strong record third off the bench, this one has better to run back to, and he might get a lively pace to aim at… #2 Pride’s Prince is ultra-fast early and arrives off back-to-back wins, but he may get pushed on the front end by #3 Speed Boat Beach, making his second start in the Brittany Russell barn and first after being gelded; 2023 G1 Malibu winner couldn’t recapture that form after a lengthy break, but Russell’s done well with well-bred horses arriving from elsewhere…

RACE 9: 9-5-1-8

#9 Cadet Corps had no answers last out in the Deputed Testamony, but he won’t see the likes of Barbadian Runner in this spot; prior form makes him extremely competitive here and will look for a stalk-and-pounce trip here with Paco up… #5 Who’s the King showed something new in latest: the typically speedy (and sometimes fainthearted) frontrunner whiffed the break and had to run into the pace, which he did smartly while four wide to win… #1 Baytown Bruiser arrives with two straight wins, decent early speed, and the inside draw…
