Delaware Park picks and analysis: June 25, 2026
- CARRYOVERS: None
- POST TIME: 12:20 P.M.
- NUMBER OF RACES: 9
RACE 1: 2-7-5-1
#2 As the Bell Toles jumps up in class but is the only three-time winner in the field and should be controlling speed; has won three of four since stretching out to route distances and adding blinkers and Lasix… #7 Onmywaytosavtheday scored last out when dropped into $16,000 company in a race that’s produced a next out winner… #5 Pasila makes her first start since March after several tries in state-bred allowance company; should be well back early but running on late…
RACE 2: 6-7-2-5
#6 Anderman didn’t necessarily beat much to graduate but did it nicely, a winner almost every step; has run a few that would win here, and should be well spotted early… #7 Boyd’s Band’s first of the season wasn’t pretty but now he shifts into the Potts barn; has better to run back to… Late-running #2 Quahog Republic didn’t run badly last out but was never a threat to the top pair…
RACE 3: 3-5-1-2
#3 Penny Polka got a break after a clunker April 1 and returned with a solid outing when narrowly beaten going six furlongs; now stretched out to a distance at which she’s won twice, she should be speed of the speed here… #5 Bottle Rocket stayed on willingly last out despite a wide trip and a slow pace… #1 Recognize Me finished just behind #5 in latest but had a better trip inside…
RACE 4: 8-3-7-2
#8 Dutchman’s Map ran credibly against better last out on the turf and is the only runner here with turf experience… #3 Cocoa Mills is by Fog of War, who was a G1 winner on the lawn; this one’s dam was mostly a steeplechase runner, but her sibs haven’t gotten on the turf much; first-timer for the Matz barn… #7 It’s Nancytime Now is the first foal out of the decent turfer Rising Bella, by Munnings, who won the Peach Blossom over the strip…
RACE 5: 7-10-1-9
#7 Kerness drops to the bottom for his third off the bench after a credible try versus better; should be one-two in the early running… #10 Peruvian Lucky was in good form when last seen in April at Tampa and should be running at the end… #1 Mission Mike may not have liked the slop in latest but isn’t far removed from races that contend here…
RACE 6: 7-5-4-3
#7 Misspent didn’t run well in allowance company last out but won nicely on the front end two back versus starter foes; might be main speed in here and drawn well outside others, and rider Haddock coming in for the mount a positive… #5 Nit Witness won nicely last out for her third win in four starts, running down hard-hitting veteran Ritabook; Kravets barn clicks at 12% first off the claim… #4 Sweet Hazely lost all chance in latest with a disastrous break, rushed up into contention, and then tired in a race she probably wasn’t winning anyway with 1-5 Golden Eib Micrphn in the field; cuts back to sprint distance at which she owns three wins…
RACE 7: 2-8-6-1
#2 Thula has shown pretty much nothing in her first two starts, but those were both last year; this one’s bred to be a star, by top sire Into Mischief and a half to two stakes winners, so maybe she’s ready to show it at three… #8 Repazz will be in front early but has had a hard time sealing the deal, having finished second or third in seven of 12 starts; useful return to action June 2… #6 Run Wild didn’t run terribly in her debut, which came on the main track, and now shifts to the lawn, where her dam was a stakes winner…
RACE 8: 4-6-7-1
#4 Fiveclocksomewhere‘s form went sideways at the end of 2025, but she returned with a solid two-turn try in her first off the bench; Nazario barn has a gaudy ROI in second off the bench situations, and this one has plenty of early zip… #6 Irish Coco was competitive at this level last year but has just a single start — when well beaten in March — since last July… #7 Dean of Belonging ran a big one on debut, but her follow-up was not good; perhaps the outer draw will do her some good…
RACE 9: 2-6-5-1
#2 Compass Fire ran really well two back when battling it out in between rivals and staying on to the bitter end; last out was less good, but a hopping start left her taking dirt behind rivals, one of whom was the 3-5 winner… #6 Warda wins if she can take her turf and synth form to the main track, but the question is, how low do you want to go to find out? Last was flattered when runner-up Gift of Gab just missed in Md-bred stake Saturday, but this one’s lone dirt try (which, admittedly, came in her debut three years ago) was not good… #5 Bertie’s Cause was no match for top pair Nit Witness and Ritabook in latest but bested the rest; those two rivals are better than these…
