Millionaire Haulin Ice finishes third

Barry K. Schwartz’s Love You More notched her first career stake and posted an upset victory in the $100,000 Rehoboth Stakes at Delaware Park today.

With Angel Cruz aboard, the 4-year-old daughter of Maclean’s Music won by a 1/2-length and returned $26.40. The Ontario-bred trained by Horacio De Paz covered the six furlongs in 1:12.30 over a fast main track.

Carmelina, with Abner Adorno, finished second. The 1-2 favorite, Haulin Ice with Sahin Civaci, stumbled at the start and briefly took the lead in the mid-stretch before finishing third 1 1/2-lengths behind the winner.

Love You More raised her career record to four wins from ten starts with earnings of $182,583.

“It was a great race,” said winning trainer Horacio De Paz. “She missed the break a little bit and I thought she would have been right behind the leaders early, but she is a filly that has won going a mile and seven furlongs, so I did figure she would come with a run.  It was a little ugly at first, but it worked out in the end. She is a gorgeous filly. After she went through her conditions, the goal was just to get her some black type, but I am looking forward to seeing where she will take us from here.”

There are two more sprinting stakes for older females on the 2026 Delaware Park schedule. The $150,000 Dashing Beauty is slated for July 23 and the $200,000 Endine returns to the stakes schedule on October 17.
