The Flightline colt is out of the Medaglia d’Oro mare Bar of Gold, winner of the 2017 Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1). The colt is a half-brother to Grade 3 winner Coinage.
He was consigned by Sequel as agent for Chester Broman, and Pedro Lanz signed the ticket as agent for KAS Stables.
Three other horses – a Jackie’s Warrior filly and colts by Tapit and Nyquist – brought winning bids of between $700,000 and $750,000.
Last year, 326 horses sold, bringing gross sales of nearly $44.2 million. The average was $135,560, and the median was $60,000.
