Mid-Atlantic three stars: March 24, 2026
Plenty of racing action took place throughout the Mid-Atlantic this past week.
Here’s a look at the “three stars” of each track:
REGION’S BEST

FIRST STAR: WILD WARRIOR. Saturday’s Private Terms Stakes at Laurel Park, the final local prep before the April 18 Federico Tesio Stakes, looked as if it would be dominated by Gary Capuano. He saddled three out of the five runners, including the victorious Wild Warrior. Sent off as the longest-priced of the three Capuanos at 5-2, he rated off stablemate Hollywood Import in the early stages, and remained 1 1/2 lengths off the leader on the final turn. Code of Silence struck the front at the top of the lane and looked ready to pull away, but under vigorous Yedsit Hazlewood urging, Wild Warrior began to rally. He got up in the last sixteenth to win by a neck, covering 1 1/16 miles over a fast track in 1:47.84. Code of Silence finished second, while Capuano-trained Let’s Go Lando finished third. Titletown Racing Stable & BRS are the winning owners of this chestnut colt, who’s now 2-for-6 lifetime.
SECOND STAR: MISS FULTON GAL. One race prior, 3-year-old fillies prepped for the Weber City Miss Stakes in the one-mile Beyond the Wire Stakes. The race featured an exciting, dramatic finish, with Miss Fulton Gal prevailing by a head. The lead changed hands several times down the long stretch run. Early leader Law School flattened out at the top of the lane, enabling New York shipper Some Ride to grab command. Miss Fulton Gal was under a drive by Raul Mena, but it didn’t look like she’d get there, as Some Ride engaged in battle with favored Peach Tie. However, as Some Ride faded in the final sixteenth, Miss Fulton Gal surged between horses and got up to win her second consecutive start. Peach Tie held second, with Some Ride third. The winning filly ran the mile in 1:40.64 for owners Trott Racing Stable, Five Sisters Farm, and John Polizos and trainer Mike Gorham.
THIRD STAR: DISCO EBO. Parx’s Tuesday feature was an open allowance sprint for fillies and mares at six furlongs. After missing the board in her previous four starts, Pennsylvania-bred veteran Disco Ebo rediscovered her best self with a gate-to-wire win. She broke on top, established a clear early lead, and remained four lengths in front as they passed the eighth pole. 3-10 favorite Alani closed well on the outside, but the wire came in time for Disco Ebo. She’s now a 14-time winner from 37 career starts, with earnings of $863,744. This was her first victory since last year’s Primonetta Stakes at Laurel Park. She’s owned by LC Racing LLC, trained by Butch Reid, and ridden by Frankie Pennington.
LAUREL PARK
FIRST STAR: WILD WARRIOR. This up-and-coming 3-year-old showed heart and determination in his Private Terms win.
SECOND STAR: MISS FULTON GAL. The same can be said for this filly, who looks like she’s getting good at the right time.
THIRD STAR: CROSSLAND. Took advantage of a hot pace to win a second-level allowance route earlier on the Saturday card.
CHARLES TOWN
FIRST STAR: OVERNIGHT POW WOW. Set the pace and held off the late rally of Serenade Me to win an open allowance sprint on Friday, for her first win of the year and her 11th career win in 19 starts.
SECOND STAR: DOUBLE AIRO. Sat the trip and drew off to win a second-level allowance dash by 3 1/2 lengths on Thursday.
THIRD STAR: IM THE DIRECTOR. Battled on the pace and held on to win a second-level allowance sprint on Wednesday, for his sixth win in his last nine races.
PARX RACING
FIRST STAR: DISCO EBO. This hard-knocking mare has now won at least one race in six consecutive seasons.
SECOND STAR: MYCHEL SANCHEZ. Won three races on Monday and Tuesday and two more on Wednesday for good measure.
THIRD STAR: GOLDEN EIB MICRPHN. One of Sanchez’s wins was on this Jamie Ness-trained mare, who fought hard with Pachelbel to win a starter optional claiming route on Tuesday for her fourth win in her last five starts.
