CT: Stryda guns for 16th career win
Testy allowance is featured
Hard-hitting veteran Stryda goes for her 16th career victory in tonight’s fourth race at Charles Town Races, while in the featured seventh, a trio of runners look to repeat at the level.
The fourth is a $5,000 starter/optional claimer for fillies and mares going 4 ½ furlongs.
Stryda, a six-year-old Great Notion mare, was claimed out of her latest by trainer Kevin Joy and owner John Julia. She’s won 15 of 32 in her career, building a bankroll of $308,000, and she’s 1-for-2 this year.

Victor Rodriguez has the mount on the 7-5 morning line favorite.
But she’ll have to contend with the likes of Dolce Veloce (9-5), Forgotten Gift (4-1), and Valid Reason (12-1). While Stryda bested all of those two back in her most recent victory, Dolce Veloce and Forgotten Gift both bested her last out, with Dolce Veloce defeating Forgotten Gift by a half-length and Stryda another half-length farther back.

Look for Stryda, breaking from the rail, to head right to the front in this contest and try to take ‘em all the way.
In the seventh, a 1 1/16-mile first-level allowance/optional claimer, Magic Mover (4-1), Deadpan (9-2), and Spurs Up (7-2) all won at similar levels last out and as a result all run for the $15,000 claiming tag today.
But none is favored.
The 5-2 morning line favorite instead is Strava. The stakes-placed Into Mischief gelding, once an $825,000 purchase, has six career wins and has earned $478,000. Now in the barn of trainer Anthony Farrior for owner Richard Burnsworth, he is slated to make his third start after more than a year on the bench.
He rallied last out to lead before tiring to fifth in late stages in a $25,000 claimer at Mahoning Valley. Two back, in his local bow, he was a pretty good second behind the formful Omar Comin.
Arnaldo Bocachica is named to ride.
Both Spurs Up and Magic Mover bested local allowance foes last out, the latter at this distance, while Deadpan, a stablemate of Strava, throttled allowance rivals at Mahoning Valley in his latest.
Longshot Stormproof (30-1) is likely to gun for the lead while leaving from the inside post, perhaps with company from General Issue (3-1), while several others jockey for position in the next flight.
