It continues to be Yedsit’s world: teenage phenom Yedsit Hazlewood racked up seven more wins over this past racing weekend, capped off by a three-bagger Sunday… That was tops in the local colony, and he now has 29 wins at the meet… Five riders — Jevian Toledo, Mychel Sanchez, Sheldon Russell, Carlos Lopez, and Angel Cruz won two apiece… Russell’s two winners were well timed: both came in stakes… 14 riders posted at least one win… Cruz has 14 wins and is second in wins at the meet, and no other rider is in double digits… Cruz has 3.97 added wins, most among local riders… Andres Chavez is next at 3.40, followed by Hazlewood with 2.90… Added wins compares a rider’s actual wins to the number of wins the odds would have predicted, with a positive total meaning the rider had won more races than the odds of his or her mounts suggest… The range of all riders is 3.97 to (-3.37)…

Brittany Russell and Gary Capuano won three races last week to pace Laurel conditioners, with Russell bagging a pair of stakes wins… Jamie Ness, Hugh McMahon, and Lacey Gaudet all won a pair, and 18 trainers in all won at least one race… Ness, McMahon, and Gary Capuano all have nine wins at the meet, most of any trainer, with Capuano’s having come in just 22 starts (41%)… Jose Corrales has eight wins, and Michael Gorham has seven… Tim Keefe has 3.58 added wins, most of any trainer, with McMahon (3.27) and Capuano (3.00) second and third… Anthony Farrior (2.60) and Gorham (2.05) round out the top five… The range of all trainers in added wins is 3.58 to (-4.89)… Added wins compares actual wins to wins projected by runners’ odds…
