CT: Muad’dib looks for second straight
Millionaire Muad’dib will aim for his second consecutive win — and 19th victory overall — in Thursday’s featured $36,200 allowance for state-breds at Charles Town Races. The seven-furlong contest is carded as the eighth race and tops a stacked card featuring five allowances and two maiden special weight races.
Post time for the nine-race program is 7:00 p.m.

A 9-year-old gray gelding by Fiber Sonde, Muad’dib has been a fixture at Charles Town since 2020, compiling 18 wins from 40 local starts while earning more than $1.12 million. Trained by Jeff Runco for David Raim, Muad’dib returned to the winner’s circle Jan. 9 when he rallied from off the pace to take a 6 ½-furlong allowance/optional claimer, signaling that he may be poised for another productive campaign in 2026.
He’ll again look to take advantage of a contested pace under 7-pound apprentice Warren Ebow, III, who has the return mount.
No Change looms as perhaps the biggest threat to Muad’dib, bringing a formidable résumé of his own into the featured allowance. The 8-year-old gelding has won 19 of 47 career starts, all at Charles Town, and has banked more than $635,000 while repeatedly proving his affinity for seven furlongs, where he owns 13 victories.
Trained by Cynthia McKee, No Change is at his best when able to settle early and unleash a sustained run, a style that has produced multiple stakes and allowance scores against similar company. Though he finished off the board in his 2026 debut on a sloppy track, his strong 2025 campaign — which included a score in the WVBC Onion Juice — suggests he remains a major force, particularly if the pace up front develops as expected.
Sunday Diaz, Jr. will do the honors.
Up front, Im the Director may be the one they all have to catch, as he appears the most likely controlling speed in the field. The lightly raced 4-year-old has won seven of 18 career starts, including five victories during a productive 2025 campaign, and has consistently shown the ability to clear or press the pace before kicking on.
If Im the Director breaks cleanly and establishes an uncontested rhythm through the opening fractions, the Cynthia McKee trainee could prove difficult to reel in over Charles Town’s demanding sprint configuration.
Others to watch include half-million dollar earner Social Chic, who’ll make his first start in the barn of trainer Anthony Farrior; Youthinkthatsfunny, who led most of the way before finishing second to Muad’dib last out; and Nocashrefunds for Joanna Boggs, a seven-time winner who enters in good form.
Rounding out a competitive field are Late in the Game and Paymengold. With experience, pace, and local affinity spread throughout the lineup, Thursday’s eighth promises a fitting showcase for one of the most reliable allowance divisions on the Charles Town circuit.
