Charles Town moves up Jan. 23 post time
Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races has moved its Friday post time up to 5 p.m. ET. This move applies only to the Friday, January 23rd card and has been made to best ensure the entirety of the card can be run in advance of bitter cold forecasted to arrive late Friday night.

“With the forecast calling for dangerously cold conditions moving in late Friday night, we feel that moving our post time to 5 p.m. ET gives us the best chance to complete the full racing card safely and on schedule,” said Charlie McIntosh, Charles Town’s Director of Racing Operations. “The safety of our horses, jockeys, and all on-track personnel is our top priority, and this adjustment allows us to stay ahead of the weather while still delivering a great night of racing for our fans and horseplayers.”
At 11:00 p.m., approximately when a typical Charles Town card might wrap up, the temperature is predicted to be 19 degrees in Charles Town with a 17 mile-per-hour wind making it feel like 4 degrees.
