Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races has canceled its Thursday card because of wind chills in the single digits.
Track and state racing officials met Thursday morning with members of the jockey colony and made the decision to cancel racing in the interest of human and equine safety.

The temperature at the track’s typical 7:00 p.m. post time is projected to be 24 degrees, and with the wind chill, it is expected to feel like 10 degrees, according to weather.com.
Live racing is slated to resume Friday at its usual first post time of 7:00 p.m ET.
