Ridden by Martin Chuan, the Jamie Ness-trained filly broke alertly from post 2, secured inside position, and was allowed to settle comfortably while saving ground. She waited patiently around the far turn before being cued at the top of the stretch, where she quickly opened up with authority.

Once asked for her run, Law School drew off impressively to score in 1:47.24 for 1 1/16 miles on a fast main track. War Madam, who chased along the rail from the start under Kevin Gomez, chased willingly but could not stay with the winner through the lane, finishing a clear second. God I Need a Favor stalked three wide early and was driven four wide on the far turn but flattened late while still holding on for third.
Law School doled out fractions of 23.88 seconds for the quarter, 48.68 for the half, and 1:14.14 for three quarters. She bolstered her advantage by more than a dozen lengths in the last 5/16 of a mile.
“When I called on her at the three-eighths, I had a lot of horse,” said winning rider Martin Chuan. “Easy win for her.”
Favored Miss Fulton Gal was away awkwardly and made little impact, finishing fourth, and Astrid and Creative Stuff completed the order of finish.
Law School broke her maiden impressively by a dozen lengths at first asking at Parx in August. But four subsequent tries in allowance company had netted her just a second and a third. Last time out, going a one-turn mile at Laurel, she pressed the pace and took over in late stages but could not hold on.
“She broke really good today,” Chuan said. “Last time in the one mile, she felt good, but I think the two turns is better for her. She relaxes a little bit.”
Law School, a Kentucky-bred daughter of Mitole out of the winning Closing Argument mare Argue My Case, now has two wins from six starts and earnings of over $74,000 for owners Super C Racing, Inc. and Jagger, Inc.
Law School paid $4.40 to win and topped an exacta, with 29-1 War Madam second, that returned $20 for a one-dollar wager.
