Delaware Park picks and analysis: October 15, 2025
- CARRYOVERS: None
- POST TIME: 12:45 P.M.
- NUMBER OF RACES: 9
RACE 1
8. Let’em Hate | Dismal outing at Parx, but prior local and MTH tries were OK; drops down to appropriate spot and could be poised to graduate |
3. Soul Stealer | Tried hard versus 3-2 favorite in two-back Timonium outing, and even latest on turf wasn’t bad |
2. Blondieness | One of two Ness first-timers and has been working in company with the other it appears; either or both could be live, though Ness has a 0.91 ROI with 2yo debut runners in maiden claiming company |
RACE 2
6. R Averie Lynn | Seems a bit off form but we’re inclined to think that’s circumstance — catching Ritabook three straight before taking tons of pace heat in latest — rather than anything else; Mena lands here, and she’s drawn outside others with speed |
4. Shy Shy | Thrashed lesser in latest with a big speed fig, but she may be a bit outfooted in the cutback to one turn |
7. I Believe in Magic | Ran big in latest behind hard-hitting Lastchance Romance; form’s a bit in-and-out but best contends |
RACE 3
6. Good Bright Flames | Middle move before tiring in latest versus better at CNL; makes second start in Gallegos barn and attracts leading rider JRod |
7. The Feisty One | Just missed after being hung out in the parking lot around the first turn last out |
4. Wicked Kitten | Speedy type is hoping for a fast track, on which she owns both her wins and six other in-the-money finishes; gave up the ghost readily in latest on slop |
RACING NOTES
- Three riders — Kevin Gomez, Julio Hernandez, and Carlos Lopez — all doubled up Saturday, with Gomez, aboard Dazzling Dame ($7.00), and Lopez, on Probably Dreaming ($2.20), each taking one of the final two stakes of the year…
- Trainer Gary Capuano and Mac Robertson each won twice, as well. Capuano’s two wins included Probably Dreaming’s decisive Rocky Run score, while Robertson’s wins included a first-out score for two-year-old Practical Joke colt McCready ($40.20) in a turf maiden special weight event…
RACE 4
11. Lace Curtain | Just missed in return from year break; hoping she can work out a trip from the outside, and any improvement makes her a winner here |
2. Dame’s Rocket | Trainer Ashby has a good record with runners debuting in claiming company (6-fo-31) and sire Karakontie’s firsters win at a 15% clip; not a lot to hang your hat on, but those that have run in this group have plenty of questions of their own |
5. Gortreagh Gal | Last two at sprint distances are solid |
RACE 5
9. Hegs | The field’s only 3-time winner has shown the ability to close or stalk and beat similar in latest; doesn’t owe us any money after 7-1 and 10-1 wins |
7. Arjay | Likely speed of the speed has shown the ability to set a rapid pace and stay on; held off next out winner Kaladin in latest |
6. Silk War | Bland outing in latest, though prior wasn’t bad; third off the bench and seeks return to ’24 form |
RACE 6
6. Tortuga Coast | A bit slow away and outfooted in otherwise useful debut; now gets two turns and can improve |
10. Hidden Rose | First-timer ships down from New York; breeding says two turns not a problem, and Clement barn clicking at 6-for-25 with 2yo debut runners |
8. Tiz Awesome | Tries dirt, a route, and fillies for the first time together after two tries versus boys at sprint distances and one on the lawn; really hasn’t run badly for all that |
RACE 7
7. Golden Rocket | Has been oh-so-close in two recent tries at the level; second on 8/16 perhaps flattered knowing that all three turf races were won wire-to-wire that day, and two of the winners were 6-1 or higher |
10. Thursday Girl | In a bit deep in latest but prior couple were solid, including behind talented Lifelovenlaughter |
4. Curlaine | Clement trainees have been in the money seven of eight at DEL; this miss was a solid third behind Starship Impulsive back in May, and that runner is 5-for-7 on turf |
RACE 8
3. Vanaka | Has been away a while but trainer Ashby has a (slightly) positive ROI off similar breaks; this one ran big at long odds in last before the break in second time with Lasix and blinks; repeat gets it done |
6. Brightness | Likely to be favored on the drop down as trainer Ritchey looks to get off the duck during closing week; prior tries versus claiming/starter foes were solid |
4. Miss Serafina | Switches back to main track, where she owns her only win to date |
RACE 9
1. Baltic | Kantharos gelding makes his career debut for a barn with a 3.56 ROI with first-out maiden claimers; rider Cruz bails on live runner #9 Overspent to land here, and note gaudy trainer-jock ROI |
2. Rickie’s Kin | Addition of Lasix seems to have provided a boost in latest |
9. Overspent | Useful return to action after a year away |
