Delaware Park picks and analysis: October 8, 2025
- CARRYOVERS: None
- POST TIME: 12:45 P.M.
- NUMBER OF RACES: 8
RACE 1
| 8. Juniper’s Jubilee | Trainer Capuano has won with 8 of his last 18 2yo maiden special weight debut runners; this one’s dam wasn’t much of a racehorse but she is out of the very productive local mare Slow and Steady |
| 3. Techstar | Outside of the Blue Hen, this one’s races are very good, including runner-up try to talented Jumping the Gun, by Gun Runner |
| 6. No Mo Muffins | Middling debut but switches to main track for follow-up, which may suit better |
RACE 2
| 3. Charlize Chub | In a race very light on speed, this one might steal away up front and could take them a ways; trainer Wyner has a positive ROI coming back on one to seven days rest and very nearly a positive ROI going sprint to route |
| 5. Padrino’s Gold | Has been sniffing around a second win for a few starts and likely to get first run if #3 falters |
| 4. Hipatia | Big recent Beyer figs tough to ignore altogether |
RACE 3
| 5. Mystical Merlin | Dead game in fending off repeated challenges despite being reluctant to load in latest; projects as main speed |
| 8. Holiday Express | Lack of early foot has been an issue, but he hasn’t run badly in closing efforts; gets solid veteran Marin up |
| 2. Title Track | First-timer is out of a multiple Grade 1 winner and half to $7 million earner Mystic Guide; barn can win first out, but caution likely advised given that he’s making his career debut at four |
RACE 4
| 10. Bodecream | Arrives with three straight open-lengths victories and the tactical ability to be up close or rally |
| 13. Sam Stormy | Not really sure what got into this guy, but his last two outings are excellent, with two-back victory coming in a race that’s produced three follow-up winners; seems to love this turf course |
| 3. Pretorian Gold | A bit more lightly raced than some of these and arrives in improving form |
RACE 5
| 2. Howgreatisnate | Up just in time against pretty salty group in latest and might get the right pace scenario again; 4-for-5 at DEL and at the trip |
| 1. Masen | Speedster drawn inside and figures to be a forward factor at least for small but productive barn |
| 6. Big Hat Willie | Trainer Atras has a positive ROI bringing horses off the bench in the first after a claim, but for all that, we’d be a bit leery of letting the odds go too low; three of five of his rivals from latest finished first or second next out |
RACE 6
| 8. She’s No Uncle | Speed of the speed is also a 3-time winner in a race where most have only won twice; top connections |
| 5. Sara’s Rose | Will look for a stalk-and-pounce trip and looks to be moving in the right direction |
| 12. Afterneath | Speedy type arrives off a win and could be a player if drawing in off the AE |
| 9. Ok by Me | Just missed versus similar in latest |
RACE 7
| 3. Soze | Can’t enter in any better form than he does with back-to-back sharp scores at MTH; will be part of the early pace mix |
| 7. Bouncer | Loves this trip (5-for-8) and two most recent defeats came to talented Slam Notion and next-out G3 Vosburgh winner Patriot Spirit |
| 2. Showstopper Copper | Gave a good account of himself when third in the Wilmington and is making short work of his conditions |
RACE 8
| 1. Peridot Pendant | Had to work for it last out but still proved best versus similar; the one to beat |
| 7. Golden Eib Micrphn | Even outing in latest but may get a livelier pace to aim at in this spot |
| 6. Ritabook | Ought to be one-two most of the way around |
