As the 2025 meet rolls on, we’re tracking the jockey and trainer statistics from the year and weekly, and we dig in a little deeper.
The numbers:
LAUREL PARK JOCKEYS
Despite an 0-for-5 Sunday, Jorge Ruiz won five times from 15 starters during the racing week to lead all Laurel riders… Daniel Centeno won four times, while Jevian Toledo and Yedsit Hazlewood won three each… Johan Rosado, Jean Briceno, and Jeiron Barbosa each won two, and 18 riders won at least once during the weekend… Toledo has 10 wins at the meet to lead all riders, while Jaime Rodriguez has a solid lead for the year in Maryland, with 75 wins… His nearest competitors are Sheldon Russell (52) and Toledo (50)… Hazlewood’s 9.60 added wins (actual wins compared to what his mounts’ odds would have predicted) leads the colony, with Raul Mena (5.52) and Russell (5.09) the next two… The range for all riders is 9.60 to (-10.09)… Arnaldo Bocachica leads all riders, pulling in 22.86% of purse moneys in his races… Sheldon Russell is next at 22.46%, and no other rider is above 18%…
