CT: Arnaldo Bocachica gets 3,000th win
Arnaldo Bocachica reached a career milestone Wednesday night at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races, guiding Thunderturtle to victory in the third race to secure the 3,000th win of his riding career.
The native of Puerto Rico tracked the pace three wide aboard Thunderturtle before surging past rivals in the stretch to win by 3 ¾ lengths for trainer Jeff Runco and owner H. Neil Glasser.

Since beginning his career in 2006, Bocachica has amassed a record of 12,894 starts, 3,001 wins, 2,210 seconds, and 1,818 thirds, with mounts earning more than $56.7 million. His success has been most pronounced at Charles Town, where he has already collected 158 wins at the 2025 meet and is on pace to secure his eighth consecutive riding title by wins.
Bocachica’s career has been defined by his partnership with top local trainer Jeff Runco, who conditioned many of his top horses. Among them are the four who have earned a half-million dollars or more with Boca in the irons:
- Coastal Mission – Grade 3 winner of the Forty Niner Stakes, earner of $1,131,373
- Muad’dib – Multiple stakes winner, $887,052
- Penguin Power – $549,030
- North Atlantic – $528,075
This season alone, Bocachica has already compiled 176 victories from 526 mounts, with purse earnings of $3,579,934.
With his milestone now behind him, Bocachica continues to add to a résumé that places him among the most accomplished riders in Charles Town history.
