Delaware Park picks and analysis: September 11, 2025
Picks and analysis for this afternoon’s card from Delaware Park:
- RACES ON CARD: 7
- CARRYOVERS: None
- POST TIME: 12:30 p.m.
RACE 1
4. Big Cuddle | Solid worktab for first-timer for Great Notion, a sire whose progeny win 20% first time out as 2-year-olds; trainer Gary Capuano has won with 8 of 18 2yo firsters with 3.13 ROI the last two years |
2. Bootleg Runner | Blinkers on after a solid debut in a race that produced a next-out winner and included a couple with flashy breeding |
1. Boogard | Colt by Yaupon, who has hit the ground running (25% strike rate with debut runners) for a barn that can get ’em ready to win first out |
RACE 2
5. Let’s Have a Party | We’ll need a price on this one, whose speed figs don’t measure up, but a four-time winner (two at the trip) facing two-time winners is often a positive angle |
1. Cloud Without Rein | Beaten fave two straight versus similar but should control the pace in a race otherwise light on speed |
3. Hot Stott | Good try versus older allowance foes in latest |
RACE 3
4. Discreet Devil | Pretty good account of himself two back versus much better when 167-1; a repeat of that wins here, and should sit a good trip |
8. Hawkstone | Improving sort has faced better |
9. Just for the Money | Good recent efforts versus better |

RACE 4
5. Somethingwonderful | Not sure about the 4f to one mile maneuver, but sometimes you gotta go with the races that are available; lone prior win came in two-turn contest at CT |
7. American Peaches | Gets back to main track in third off the bench; has some efforts that would win here |
6. Wicked Kitten | Could be speed of the speed; failed late in lengthy duel with winner last out |
RACE 5
1. Andolin | Trainer Ashby is 4-for-9 with 2yo debuting at route distances; this colt is by new sire Engage |
5. Toogoodtosell | Credible debut sprinting on the dirt but this guy is bred to do this; any improvement would make him tough in here |
6. Blackfoot Bounty | Trainer Lynch wins at a 29% clip with 2yo firsters |
RACING NOTES
- Seven different trainers and seven different jockeys won Wednesday’s seven races…
- With a sequence that included a $30 horse and a $20 horse, the late pick 5 returned $10,607 on a 50-cent wager…
RACE 6
2. Don’t Ghost Me | Ran a pair of good ones at CNL when transferred into Stidham barn; two-back outing produced a pair of next-out winners among five to run in the triple next out |
4. Spring Decision | First-timer for Saville (3/19 1st start) was once a $550k yearling and is a half to a first-out winner; arrives today for different connex than those that paid the big money but with a zippy work tab |
5. On the Level | Blinkers and Lasix both go on for season bow for a runner whose debut was just fine at LRL back last fall |
RACE 7
11. Hegs | Drops back down after even outing on double-raise following victory; fits with these and could be tough if a pace materializes |
4. Kunooz | Likely speed of the speed; the question is, do they let him control it, or does someone push him |
10. Doctor’s Orders | In good form since switching into Salinas barn and back to the turf |
