Jockey Jaime Rodriguez goes 5-for-5 at Delaware

Jaime Rodriguez added another chapter to his growing legacy at Delaware Park on Saturday, winning with all five of his mounts to turn in a flawless 5-for-5 performance.

The sensational day further solidified his grip on the top spot in the 2025 jockey standings, as he continues to dominate the Mid-Atlantic circuit and close in on a fifth straight riding title at the Stanton, Delaware oval.

Rodriguez’s afternoon began with Kerness ($3.80) in the opener, a $5,000 claiming event. The 5-year-old gelding, trained by Jamie Ness, stalked early and powered clear in the stretch to win as the odds-on favorite. From there, the victories kept coming with clinical consistency.

In the second race, Rodriguez guided C. C. Foxii ($5.00) to a maiden claiming score, pressing the early pace and drawing off late for trainer Greg Compton. Just an hour later, he struck again—this time with Bold Boss ($4.40) in a five-furlong maiden special weight taken off the turf and moved to the main track. The chestnut filly led every step of the way and kicked clear decisively, giving trainer Compton a training double.

Rodriguez kept it rolling in the fifth, taking Waterloo Rose wire-to-wire in a $6,250 claiming route. The 7-year-old mare dug in gamely in the lane to hold off late challenges and give trainer Kieron Magee the win. Waterloo Rose paid $13.00 to win, Rodriguez’s only mount not to be favored.

He capped the perfect day aboard Brooklyn Rhapsody in the nightcap, a $16,000 claiming sprint. Sitting just off the pace, Rodriguez angled the chestnut filly out for a three-wide bid before taking command and edging clear late to notch his fifth winner. She paid $2.80 to win.

Already a four-time defending champion at Delaware Park, Rodriguez has become a fixture in the winner’s circle with a potent combination of timing, aggression, and professionalism that continues to separate him from the rest of the colony.

Saturday’s performance comes as no surprise to longtime observers of the Mid-Atlantic racing scene. With leading trainer Jamie Ness often providing live mounts, Rodriguez has carved out one of the most reliable win-producing partnerships in the region. Their frequent collaborations are a major reason Rodriguez has amassed a wide lead in the local standings and earned consistent success across Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

As Delaware Park’s meet pushes into its latter stages, Rodriguez remains the rider to beat. Or, on days like this one, practically unbeatable.
