RACING NOTES

  • Wednesday’s Early Pick 5 paid over $10,000, and the MIddle Pick 5 paid out to four of five, with a $6,700 carryover into today. Why? Mostly because Top Blood blew up the toteboard in the third race. With Jean Briceno up for crafty trainer Jose Corrales, Top Blood prevailed by three parts of a length in a claiming race, paying his few backers $93.60. Top Blood is 3-for-15 in his career…
  • A pair of runners won their career debuts Wednesday. With Arnaldo Bocachica in the irons, Wall Art won a $25,000 maiden claimer for two-year-olds by nearly eight lengths. Trained to victory by Anthony Farrior, he was claimed out of the race by trainer Kieron Magee. In the nightcap, a $25,000 maiden claimer for older runners, Bodkin Creek rallied to win by a length under jockey Carol Cedeno. The winner, a homebred for Kathy Dibben, is trained by Karin Wagner…
