Picks and analysis for this afternoon’s card from Delaware Park:
- RACES ON CARD: 7
- CARRYOVERS: None
- POST TIME: 12:30 p.m.
RACE 1
5. Centsamilla | Caught a tiger in debut against special weight foes as winner earned 82 Beyer fig |
6. Rama Bama Lana | Tough one in debut when taken down after shutting off foe but was clear of the rest; trainer looking for first win |
3. Our Best Song | Good effort when outrunning 10-1 odds in latest |
RACE 2
4. Valid Reason | Ran ok on last visit to DEL but hoping for a bit more here in third of the cycle; probably looks to stalk and pounce |
1. R Averie Lynn | Runner-up in a pair of these lately, couldn’t hold off closer Little Crybaby in latest; likely to be on the engine from the inside stall |
6. Ritabook | Two back this miss went to the front and repelled R Averie Lynn; last out she tried to press that rival and never could get by; interesting tactical challenge for the rider here |
RACE 3 – OFF THE TURF
3. Minister | MTO runner has credible tries versus better |
13. Wampanoag Chief | Full sis Flor de Sambra won a pair of stakes on the main track; this guy makes his dirt bow after not-terrible turf and synth outings |
6. Lookin Like Lucky | Well bet in debut and flashed a bit of speed; gelded for this tilt |
4. Star of Abraham | Good early zip in only prior try in a race that’s been pretty productive |

RACE 4
4. Bollo de Crema | Back to the main track and should control the pace on the dropdown in company |
5. Missy’s Map | Credible try versus similar in first dirt effort against winners |
3. Fabia | Outmatched in allowance company, should find this group more congenial |
RACE 5 – OFF THE TURF
5. Military Road | Kinda now or never for this guy, who’s been the beaten fave in four starts, including odds-on in last two; speed figs say he wins here |
9. Booted Up | Sneaky good debut when away awkwardly and green early but finishing with a flourish and catching the winner on the gallop-out; breeding says he wants the added ground |
10. Mr. Funtastico | Only dirt try wasn’t bad |
RACING NOTES
- Trainer Kerri Raven improved to 4-for-10 at the meet when Indy’s Universe ($7.20) dominated a maiden claimer by over eight lengths. Alexander Crispin was in the irons for the sophomore Unified filly…
- Three-year-old Chipotle ($6.40) thrashed his elders in a starter allowance to close the card. Ridden by Raul Mena for trainer Mike Gorham, Chipotle has won four of five this year, his only miss a rough outing in the Chick Lang at Pimlico…
- Delaware lover Golden Candy ($12.40) wore down Rominski to win a starter/optional claimer for his eighth career win at the track. Jose Batista was up for trainer Wallace Neilson…
RACE 6
5. Spikezone | In his last couple he’s run into rivals with even more early lick than he has — not the case here; should get to the front and control |
3. Latta | Cost himself all shot in the Mr. P when walking out of the gate in a tough heat that produced two next-out stakes winners; gelded since latest and hoping he can leave without incident |
4. On the Mark | Keeps churning out good races and most likely upsetter in the field |
RACE 7 – OFF THE TURF
7. J D Factor | Speed of the speed arrives off two straight dominant wins on dirt |
8. California Sober | Dirt tries aren’t terrible; gelded and returns for a barn that can win first off the bench |
10. Trevesso | Should be running at the end |
2. Roundtop | Half-bro was dirt Grade 1 winner Mongolian Groom |
