Delaware Park picks and analysis: July 10, 2025
Picks and analysis for this afternoon’s card from Delaware Park:
- RACES ON CARD: 8
- CARRYOVERS: None
- POST TIME: 12:30 p.m.
RACE 1
5. Great Quality | Makes second start off the bench and second with Lasix on; trainer-jock combo 3-for-6, and trainer Capuano’s won 11 of 40 outings in second off long breaks |
3. Rockingham Joe | Speed figs stack up, and if he likes the dirt, he should be a factor; his best sib was stakes-placed on the main track |
4. Lex | Shades come off but leading rider goes on after near-miss versus similar |
RACE 2
5. Whatarewedoing | Aggressively handled miss just missed at higher level in latest; barn means business when dropping in claiming price |
6. Downanddirtydonna | Zippy worktab for CT shipper; barn that doesn’t run here a ton attracts leading rider |
2. Nanny’s Dime | Some solid works, including from the gate |
RACE 3
2. Band Camp | Has finished first or second nine straight, won last out, and makes third off the bench; looks for stalk-and-pounce trip |
6. Rominski | Likely speed of the speed and owns a class edge; the question is how aggressive will the pressure from his outside be? Last a bit of a disappointment at 2-5 |
9. Golden Candy | Delaware lover reunited with trainer Neilson, who had him in ’23 and part of ’24 |

RACE 4 – OFF THE TURF
2. Beautiful Blome | Last year’s White Clay Creek Stakes winner had a useful enough return from a freshening and gets Lasix on for the first time |
8. Gourmet | Solid form, though it appears she prefers sprints |
5. Momm’s Lino | Been over a year since she’s tried the main track, but prior form on it was competitive |
1. Volatility | Versatile sort made a middle move in latest on turf; second of the season here |
RACE 5
6. Cuz Ur Pretty | Speedy but doesn’t need the lead, and a repeat of most of her recent races would win here; has won second allowance three times but always for the tag |
1. Old Bay | Might get a good trip in a race that has some early types |
2. Mudslide | Though best work has come at CT, really hasn’t run badly except for the turf outing; back to main track here |
RACING NOTES
- Jockeys Julio Hernandez and Carol Cedeno each won twice Wednesday. Hernandez scored on Medagooch ($7.80) for trainer Phil Capuano and again aboard Lookin At Roses ($6.80) for Guadalupe Preciado. Cedeno’s winners were Conch Fried Rice ($4.20) for Michael Stidham and You’re the One ($6.80) for Lynn Ashby…
- Town’s Warrior ($11.40) won the day’s allowance feature, rallying from last to win by a neck over longtime leader Frosty the Giant. Carlos Lopez was in the irons for trainer Tim Kreiser…
RACE 6 – OFF THE TURF
9. Sheezahotmess | MTO runner just missed versus similar last out |
7. Eachpeachpearplum | Lone dirt try wasn’t terrible, and added ground today a plus |
13. Valerie Street | Debut dirt outing wasn’t bad in a race that’s produced three next-out winners |
6. Indy’s Universe | Wouldn’t be shocked if they sent her to the front |
RACE 7
6. Warp Nine | Ran well but not well enough in latest; breaking outside probably a plus for this guy, and best should do it |
1. Arrow Speed | Go-to rider JRod picks this of the two Ness runners; return to two turns a plus |
5. War Master | Trainer Gorham 22% with a positive ROI first off the claim |
RACE 8
6. Chipotle | Toss the Chick Lang, and the rest of this guy’s work is stellar; should get a good trip |
3. Intrepid’s Legacy | Makes third start of the cycle |
2. Plausible Denile | Could get a pace to close into |
