- RACES ON CARD: 8
- CARRYOVERS: Jackpot Pick 6, $11,199
- POST TIME: 7:00 p.m.
RACE 1
5. Dark Lute | Makes first visit to CT after facing better at LRL |
6. Rick’swarmheart | Consistent type has been beaten favorite two straight at this level |
4. Let’s Eat | Bit of a freshening after poor recent outings; best could get him a piece at likely monster odds, and interesting to see veteran rider Araujo land here |
RACE 2
6. Italian Song | Blinkers on after a decent try in first two-turn outing in which she finished a length behind #7 |
7. Preshow Hype | Best figs but beaten fave in two straight |
1. Skie’s Music | Blinkers back off and a new rider for second try with Lasix |
RACE 3
7. Overnight Pow Wow | Last year’s Cavada winner’s resume and figs tower over these, but if you’re inclined to take a shot against, now might be the time in first of the season |
5. O K Smarty Pants | Second off the bench and has some decent tries on the ledger; price should be right |
6. Molly Factor | Florida-bred is the logical alternative to the top choice |

RACE 4
3. Lipstick and Rouge | 10 months ago trainer Caiazzo debuted a half to this runner to an easy win here, one of two out of dam Lipstick Pulpit; this daughter of Vekoma has a steady work tab |
7. Talbot Heirloom | Beaten favorite in all three local outings |
2. Sweet Manhattan | Second off the bench after showing speed and staying on decently in latest |
RACE 5
7. Lawyer Up Riley | Drops into claiming ranks for first time; couple of near-misses versus allowance foes |
2. Parade of Fears | Dominated maiden foes two back but had no answers last out in allowance company; likely to be on the engine |
6. El Gunner | Frequent bridesmaid ran pretty well when in this type of company two back |
RACE 6
1. Military Grade | Got a pretty good education in troubled first outing when a hard-trying third, and the runner-up came back to graduate next out; gets Lasix on for first start of 3yo season, but do note that first-out rider Boca lands on trainer’s other horse |
9. Bernie the Star | Beaten fave last two, including at 3-10 in latest, but still should be formidable |
5. Mitby | Blinkers on for two-time local runner-up; Boca lands here rather than #1 |
RACE 7
5. Unison | Speedster makes first start of the season and owns seven wins in 12 starts at the trip |
3. Youthinkthatsfunny | Will be running at the end |
8. Honeyquist | Third off the bench and sure will be happy not to see Duncan Idaho, who’s bested this one five times in the last 13 months |
RACE 8
4. Gold Fiber | Dash specialist has a pair of narrow defeats at this level and makes third start off a freshening |
10. Restless | Likely to be a bit outfooted going short early but should be running late |
2. Missionsninetynine | Pretty good recent form |
