Charles Town picks and analysis: June 21, 2025
Picks and analysis for this afternoon’s card from Charles Town Races:
- RACES ON CARD: 9
- CARRYOVERS: Jackpot Pick 6, $61,044
- POST TIME: 7:00 p.m.
RACE 1
1. Funding the Kids | First-timer has a zippy work tab for a trainer who can win first out and is by a sire who does well with firsters |
2. Sonde Tails | OK tries |
6. Lil Knockout | Big move but turned away in local bow; makes second start off the bench |
RACE 2
8. Summon the Glam | Formful sort looks for stalk-and-pounce trip and second straight win |
3. Full of Charm | Should be one-two early in bid to win second straight |
2. Poppy Mac | Not so far removed from efforts that contend here |
RACE 3
5. Remy’s Top Gun | Took plenty of money but disastrous start cost him all chance in bow; made a bit of a middle move before emptying out |
1. Holiday Cash | First-timer for the Brown barn is a half to a first-out winner |
9. Bonds Revenge | Best effort would put him in the mix |

RACE 4
9. Peggy’s Way | Speed of the speed is drawn outside; hasn’t done a thing wrong since coming to CT |
6. Bobbi Two Steps | Should be running at the end |
3. Cherokee Castle | Rideoutt claimback has her moments |
RACE 5
7. Annapolis Road | Bad start doomed him at odds-on in latest but gets blinks on for second of season; best wins |
4. This Juice B Loose | Didn’t run terribly in latest |
6. Flyin Mayan | Usually in the mix |
RACE 6
8. Mister Grinch | Willing debut despite a bunch of trouble; clean trip puts him right there |
2. Fiber Proof | Beaten at 2-5 in latest and likely odds-on again |
1. Felicias Cinco | OK try in most recent |
RACE 7
6. Petty Perfect | Speedy type makes third start off the bench and could work out a good trip |
3. Somesugarnspice | Seems to have turned the corner in recent starts and was a solid second versus similar in latest |
1. No Body Likes Me | Bit of a freshening after decent tries versus similar |
RACE 8
7. No Change | Third off the bench after a pair of narrow defeats; best should win |
8. Paymengold | Troubled trip last out but prior form fits nicely |
3. Muad’dib | Probably should have made a bigger impact than he did last out with a fast pace to close into |
RACE 9
6. City Taah | Cleared to the lead but just failed in latest versus similar; winner repeated |
2. Institution | First since January; return to better form would be likely be sufficient for a barn that’s 9-for-30 at CT |
10. Just a Rainbow | Sharp score two back to graduate; no good versus allowance foes but drop to this spot should help |
