Delaware Park picks and analysis: June 11, 2025
Picks and analysis for this afternoon’s card from Delaware Park:
- RACES ON CARD: 7
- CARRYOVERS: None
- POST TIME: 12:35 p.m.
RACE 1
7. Long Astride | Middle move to reach even terms with 1-20 favorite in latest but could not go with that rival in the lane |
1. Brother Lad | Substantial (and necessary) drop in class here; gets blinkers on |
5. Sidney’s Bid | Good trip off the speed in latest when finishing ahead of top choice but unsighlty 1-for-51 record makes endorsing on top a dicey proposition |
RACE 2
7. Azure Lady | Lightly raced sort had a useful return to action when just behind #5 in her last out in first of 2025; probably gets a pace to run at |
5. Tam Char | Veteran rushed up to lead but had no answers late last out; with other speed signed on, jockey Mena will have to work out the trip |
1. Kingdom Queen | Trainer Sullivan had this mare going pretty well over the winter; return to that form good enough here |
RACE 3
2. Home Invasion | Caught a tough group last out in off-the-turf tilt in which winner Academy received a 91 Beyer fig; not likely to see anything like that here |
8. Frame Up | Probably should like the two-turn trip, and easier company a plus, too |
9. Blue Sky’s Syl | Debut was credible |

RACE 4
2. Group Ticket | Should sit right trip off the speed for leading jock and trainer |
1. Frosty the Giant | Likely not good enough to seal the deal but should lead for a ways |
5. Mr Jefferson | Veteran rallied for a nice win in latest |
RACE 5
2. Josh | Stinker in latest but return to two-back form might win here |
11. Love Shaq | Zippy gate work June 3 |
5. Pujol | Prior dirt outings would put him right there |
RACING NOTES
- Jockey Julio Hernandez bookended the card Saturday, winning the opener aboard Aranciata ($2.80) for trainer Michael Simone and the nightcap on Sunset Town ($5.60) for Phil Capuano. He’s second in the standings with 11 wins…
- Seven different trainers scored on Saturday…
RACE 6
3. Good Call | Local bow wasn’t much to write home about but prior form plenty good enough; two-back winner won the Jersey Girl at SAR this past weekend |
2. Royal Princess | Has faced better; Russell barn 3-for-4 at the meet |
7. Drink This Cup | Impressive debut last year here, but return a few weeks back was a mess; possibly positive sign that they’re taking this mild step down in company and protecting the horse |
RACE 7
3. Big Girl | Hoping for a bit of a price; only sibling won at first asking and has won a stake, and trainer Caiazzo won with a couple of firsters last year |
4. Code Name Willow | Nothing wrong with this one’s two outings; the only caution flag is the eight months since the last |
8. La Portada | Trainer Stidham wins at a 25% clip with firsters at DEL; this one’s a half to multiple graded-placed runner Central Avenue |
