Laurel Park was in action for three days of live racing this past weekend, and we’re crunching the numbers on jockey and trainer stats: wins, percentage of purse earned, added wins.

Stats are year-to-date in Maryland and not meet-specific. Here are the numbers:

JOCKEY TOP 10 WINS

Mychel Sanchez won two stakes on Saturday as part of a productive, 4-for-9 week, the most wins of any rider this past weekend… Others with multiple wins were Sheldon Russell (3-for-10) and Jevian Toledo, Yedsit Hazlewood, and Alexander Crispin, all with two wins… Jaime Rodriguez continues to own a long lead over his nearest competitors: 19 more wins than second-place JG Torrealba; both Torrealba and Rodriguez won once during the week… The same 10 riders have comprised the top 10 in wins the last two weeks…

JOCKEY TOP 10 PERCENTAGE OF PURSE EARNED

Forest Boyce, injured before Sunday’s first race when her mount flipped and landed on her, won with her only starter of the week to inch past Sheldon Russell in percentage of purse earned, while Mychel Sanchez, with two stakes wins and four victories overall, jumped from outside the top 10 to third… Sanchez is the only newcomer to the top 10…

JOCKEY TOP 10 BY ADDED WINS

Raul Mena maintains a narrowed lead over Forest Boyce in added wins, comparing a jockey’s actual wins to the number that the odds of his or her mounts would have predicted… Mychel Sanchez jumped from eighth to third, though well behind the top pair… Sheldon Russell is new to the top 10 this week… The range of all riders is 6.53 to (-8.37)…

TRAINERS TOP 10 BY WINS

Brittany Russell went 4-for-13 last weekend to pace all trainers at Laurel and is continuing to win at a gaudy clip of more than 37%… Other multiple winners were Rudy Sanchez-Salomon, Kenny Cox, and Jamie Ness, all with two wins. Cox was 2-for-3… Cal Lynch and Gary Capuano each won once during the week to move into a tie for 10th with Robbie Bailes, Claudio Gonzalez, and Mike Trombetta… 10 trainers who have made seven or more starts are winless…

TRAINERS TOP 10 BY PERCENTAGE OF PURSE EARNED

For the first time in weeks, Henry Walters dropped out of the top spot in percentage of purse earned, falling to sixth after an 0-for-3 week… Trainers among the top 10 by wins and also among the top 10 in this category are Gary Capuano, Brittany Russell, Robbie Bailes, Anthony Farrior, and Michael Gorham… John Salzman Sr. and Gorham newcomers to the top 10 this week, Gorham in a tie for 10th after going 1-for-2 and Salman, also 1-for-2 last week, now in eighth… Four trainers with at least seven starts are pulling in less than five percent of available purse money…

TRAINER TOP 10 BY ADDED WINS

In going 1-for-2, Mike Gorham extend his lead in added wins, comparing a trainer’s actual wins to what the odds of his or her runners would have predicted… Brittany Russell retook second after a four-win week… Tim Keefe (1-for-4 last week) and Ben Feliciano are new to the top 10… The range of all trainers is 5.83 to (-4.18)…
