Parx Racing hosted a trio of Christmas-themed stakes on December 31 to close out 2024, with favorites taking two of the three, both in dominant fashion.

All three were on a Parx main track listed as muddy and sealed. Here are the results:

Offaly Cool slipped through along the rail in the stretch and was up late to prevail by a half-length for his second career stakes win… Offaly Cool has six wins and over $260,000 in earnings from 14 starts… Post time favorite Repo Rocks settled for third, leaving him less than $12k shy of $1 million in career earnings…

The graded stakes-placed five-year-old (in 2024) Nelson Avenue earned his first stakes victory with an 11 1/4-length romp as the 6-5 choice… He sped to the front along the inside and opened up readily from there while geared down late… He is 6-for-16 in his career with just shy of $300,000 banked…

MRS. CLAUS STAKES, fillies and mares 3yo and up, 7f, $75,000

Odds-on favorite Irish Maxima treated her six rivals the way a 1-2 favorite is supposed to, shooting right to the lead and widening from there to a 13 3/4-length win without feeling the whip… Irish Maxima concluded her sophomore season with two career stakes wins, an overall 6-for-9 record, and just shy of $300,000 banked… Confirmed Star was along for second, while $700k earner Disco Ebo was third…
