| 6. Army Cadet | Relatively lightly raced type galloped against bottom maidens last out and catches a manageable group here |
| 4. Duke of Dooly | Speedster will control the pace, but his history of gacking up leads makes him hard to love on top |
| 5. Sidney’s Bid | Morning line favorite has run credibly against better recently but has been stuck at this two-life condition for over a year |
RACE 2
| 6. Fortheloveofrun | Pay attention to the toteboard: if any of the first-timers take significant play, give ’em a long look; breeder and former owner McIngvale liked this guy enough to run him twice at Keeneland, and that second-place finish makes him a logical play here |
| 2. It’s Hammertime | Trainer Gary Capuano’s overall record with firsters isn’t great, but he’s 2-for-7 with them in special weight company here; dam was a stakes winner, one sib won at first asking, and sire Vekoma off to a quick start |
| 3. Bourbon N Lace | Trainer Pecoraro has a pair (this one and #5); two of this one’s sibs won first time out, and top local pilot Rodriguez gets the call |

| 3. Distorted d’Oro | First-timer is out of a Grade 2-placed mare; Stidham barn can get ’em ready to run first out |
| 7. Midnight Prowler | Useful debut when getting within a couple before tiring in the lane at GP, and top runners have run well since; gets blinkers on for this |
| 6. Toy Collector | Clement pair (#5 and this one) are super-well-bred; this one cost $550k at auction, and the other is a half to multiple G1 winner Lady Eli;; either could be capable, and if you’re wondering why they’d be here, it might just be that there’s no race for them at Saratoga, leaving ’em on the sidelines until mid-June otherwise |

| 5. Dia de Sol | Makes this unusual condition — haven’t won in eight months — by about two weeks and no starts since; pretty much an all or nothing horse, since if she can return to last year’s form, she wins here |

| 8. Murumbi | Arriagada barn with productive start to meet |
