Fasig-Tipton 2yo sale: By the numbers
Last year the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic sale of two-year-olds in training reached nearly $35 million in gross sales as 375 two-year-olds changed hands.
This year’s event will kick off May 20 at 11 a.m. at the sales pavilion in at the Maryland state fairgrounds in Timonium. The two-day has 585 numbered hips prior to outs, a slight decline from 2023, so if it is to match the booming business of a year ago, it will need some blockbusters.

He’s also the sire of three of the 49 hips offered that were bred in the Mid-Atlantic… Instagrand and Maryland sire Mosler both bred three of the Midlantic horses offered, more than any other sire… These will also be the first two-year-olds for Volatile, a winner five times in six starts in his career. He’s a son of Violence… Two colts breezed an eighth in 9 4/5, the fastest time at the sale; they’re by Vekoma and Street Boss…
